Happy Thanksgiving, Sally! :bighug:

Absolutely fine to give Lily a mini meal. Also, it should hopefully start giving you some advance info on the effect of small feeds later in the cycle on BG levels prior to the feeding schedule adjustment.

Sending some special Thanksgiving scritches for Lily. (((Lily))) :cat:

Hey Mogs, Lily is at 57 at +7.5 and I gave her a couple teaspoons HC. Will check again in 20 min.

Ok she has risen to 79 at +8 and I will recheck at +8.5.

Ta for the info, Sally.

Sorry to be a pain but I need really specific info here:

1. The variety of FF paté you gave Lily for breakfast. (I can look that up in the food chart.)

2. Did you also give Lily the same paté variety for the +5 mini meal? If not, which variety did you give?

The reason I'm asking is to try to understand how Lily reacts to foods at specific carb levels because it doesn't always follow that the lowest carb food leads to the lowest BG levels. With Lily's partly-operational pancreas, small differences in carb levels can sometimes have significant effects, sometimes counterintuitive ones.

She is 106 at +8.5.
That's safe. I'd recommend testing her again at +9 and +9.5 to make sure she's stayed up for 2 hours without any food - particularly given her current pattern of drifting lower in the later part of the cycle. Needless to say, if required intervene with food again (and the clock starts over again).

Sorry Mogs, with 7 cats (9 with my daughters visiting 2) I am not sure which FF she got this morning. But it came out of the box poultry and beef. The mini meal I gave her was FF Turkey and giblets feast.

Turkey and giblets is low carb. I don’t think you can follow SLGS and get Lily into remission as you would have to stop insulin with a drop under 90. I don’t think she is quite ready to go off insulin completely. I think it’s a matter of needing to figure out what to feed and how often so she can get a drop of insulin. Good catch on the 57!

What meter are you using?

It says a relion on the as is that correct?

I agree with Elise, she's not ready to go off insulin altogether.
How would you feel about following TR?
It might just give you an lily the framework to getting her otj.
Sorry, trying to cook. Yes, I use ReliOn. She is 133 at +9.5. I will consider TR. will read about it tonight. Do you think I should then?

I think TR will give you the framework to continue dosing Lily till you can get her nregulated and OTJ.

You take reductions under 50 with a human meter as opposed to 90.

You test enough to do TR safely. Have a read up and shout if you have any questions.

I did tr look at George's as, he went OTJ, it wil give you an idea of what you are looking for in terms of numbers for his BG.

He went OTJ in 2016
