Mike How may units did you shoot?
with meter variances those are basically the same number. You really need to keep testing and ave more of the HC on hand. I'm going to tag a lantus person to come helpYes he ate HC food since it was so low. Went to 237 and 227
111 is a good safe number. Let hope it stays around there.Thank you so much. I’m so worried. Vet called said it’s 111 now. It’s fluctuating for some reason it’s hard to monitor

A 'sputtering' pancreas. That happens when a kitty is trying to go into remission (anti-jinx!). Fingers and paws crossed...The vet was concerned about the numbers from this morning of 30s and then 50s. They think he’s making his own insulin that’s what’s causing these staggering numbers.

Okay Earl was 65 when I got home just now he’s 302. Should I give him insulin?
Not weird at all.Tested ten minutes later was 63 it’s weird should that happen?
This however is a bit unusual.Tested an hour after that he was 172
Earl was 144 this morning no insulin. Tested ten minutes later was 63 it’s weird should that happen? Tested an hour after that he was 172
AGREE!If you haven't already shot insulin this morning, don't. Since there's a chance that he's making his own insulin, let's see what he does today. In particular, let's see whether his numbers start dropping after eating-- that would be a really strong sign of a working pancreas!
I'm having trouble following the story from this thread-- I don't know how much insulin has been shot when, or even whether a human or pet meter is being used, so I don't want to offer any more specific advice than this right now, but from what I can tell it sure looks encouraging for Earl so far!
