Dry Food Lantus Spreadsheet?

Hey all, one of my cases for DCIN has a 15 year old diabetic cat who will not eat ANY canned food (and is even picky about his dry, he only eats kitten chow!). She's very limited technologically (her laptop is 12 years old), so she can't get on here or other groups.

My question is: does anyone have or know of any spreadsheets of diabetic cats on Lantus eating high-carb DRY food? I'm wondering if the high-carb dry may effect nadir times.

He currently seems to be doing well on 1u Lantus; lots of blues in the spreadsheet I've been doing for them. I can't share the whole spreadsheet because it has some identifying information about her vet, etc., but attached is a screenshot of recent values. Since he's such a picky eater and won't eat other than his normal mealtimes, we're being very cautious about hypoglycemia--also prior to working with DCIN, he was being extremely overdosed on Lantus (6u on bg 58 on an AlphaTrak on 10/18, just to give 1 example) and had 2 seizures.

Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with a similar situation. Thanks :)

I can’t help but I’m amazed that the cat is under renal threshold it appears. All blue on high carb dry is amazing !

He's picky about his dry too--and the owner can't afford the expensive kibble anyway, even if her cat would eat it, which sounds unlikely.
 
Adding: we are trying to find a canned food that Mr T will eat, but so far have had no luck. The owner had also tried in the past with no luck then either. He needs a dental at some point, so there is a lot of motivation to find a canned food he'll eat--but for the time being, kitten chow is what he eats. He's so picky he won't even eat the kitten chow if it's gotten wet...

When Trouble came to live with us he didnt know what canned food was. I tricked him when I poured his dry into a bowl (for the sound factor) then put just a teaspoon of can food in the bowl I gave him. He snubbed it at first but I think hunger got to him and next thing I know its gone! I doubt that will work for this little hard case though. (I think Trouble came to think his wet food was a big treat)

How about trying this? It comes in dry kibble or/and the patties can be given dry or mixed with water to any texture. Low carb. Chewy has it. Scroll down to the nibs and patties which are complete foods. They also have treats and toppers

None of my like the rabbit. Iffy on the duck. Chicken and Turkey they love, I alternate the two.

That's way too expensive for her... she's extremely limited income.
 
Home from work :) Sounds challenging with the food. We make Cosmo a kibble meatball (LOL). A 1/4 can of wet (which is MC) and 20 pieces of kibble pressed into the wet. Doesn’t sound like the kitty will eat kibble if it is in the wet at all though...:(

Cosmo isn’t particularly picky, just needs it to treat his condition. I’ve found that our nadir happens fairly early and it seems to take a little longer for the food to kick in. A not so fun side effect is the dropsies and unexpected drops that can come from HC. Kind of like a sugar crash after eating a chocolate cake or lots of candy.

Thank you so much! The owner is trying to slowly fill in the spreadsheet gaps as her health/schedule allows. But I've been wondering if the nadir may not be happening at the normal 5-7 hour period. Hopefully as Mr T's spreadsheet gets filled in more, we'll be able to pinpoint it.
