So we are on our 2nd OTJ trial. Is number are a little higher some days but he is still doing really good. He isn’t drinking a bunch of water or laying in the bathroom anymore and he also hasn’t been waking me up at night for food. So I am wondering if I should continue w the trial or put him back on his 1 drop dose. I know we haven’t had any mid day test with hunting going on and I have a kid in quarantine now but the season is over for us now so I will be able to test him more.

@Deb & Wink

I'm not seeing much of a difference in the pre-shot tests, between 0 (zero) insulin and the 1 drop (0.1U).

With the human meter, you want those BG numbers to be consistently < 100.

So my recommendation is to put Opi back on the 0.1U and perhaps even increase that to 2 drops if you don't see much improvement.
So practice your drop dosing measurements again, with a used syringe and some colored water.

Quarantine! How are you doing with that? How is your kid?

Hunting season is still going strong here. Got woken up very early this morning, by gun blasts at dawn. Dozens of cars parked along the road too. Deer shotgun season hasn't even started yet, so it must be for upland game birds or squirrels. The state releases quail and pheasant for the hunters, in the Wildlife Management area across the road.

soumds good with opi. And I def need to keep practicing. Some morning it seems like he doesn’t even get any insulin like the plunger doesn’t move at all when I push it.

A kid in my sons 1 st grade class got covid so the just closed the whole classroom down, but it’s weird bc my daughter can still go to school even though he can’t. We are on day 6 of 14 now and he has no symptoms but still needs to be tested just in case. He loves being home except the work. We spent 6 hours trying to do all his online work.

Thank goodness there isn’t any place near my house to hunt. It is a 40 min drive to where we hunt so I’m glad we got both our deer. Our summer are rough w the noise we have a baseball team and after every game it’s like an hour of fireworks.

The school I teach in just went remote for two weeks, and the school my son goes to just decided that after Tomorrow they are doing remote until Jan 18th. Weird times.

My thinking was pretty much the same as @Deb & Wink -- you want the overall level of the numbers to be lower than what you've been seeing in order to start an OTJ trial. Basically, you want lots more green on Opi's spreadsheet.

I don't know how all of you with kids are managing with the craziness of the remote classes, potential Covid exposure, etc. My hat is off to you!

it’s been crazy w the home school. At least I have 1 kid still in school. I can’t image what it would be like to do both their work everyday.
