Good afternoon! I need some advice. Milo was not eating well today despite being offered multiple things for breakfast and early morning. I tried some MC FF @ +3 and gave him 1/6 tab Mirtazapine. I tried to entice him some more with LC and/or MC with Fortiflora @+4.75. He nibbled a bit. Despite my best efforts, he dropped to 43 before the appetite stimulant kicked in. I gave him some more MC at that point and he was finally hungry and has been happily grazing the rest of the afternoon.
Here’s my question: do I go for the reduction when I think it was a matter of lack of food that caused him to drop below 50, not a true reduction. Should I go for the decrease or not, especially since he’s now up to 122 and the last day and a half he was in the blues 113-158 ???
I need to shoot in two hours. Can anyone make any suggestions??
@carfurby @Wendy&Neko @tiffmaxee??? @dianetylersmom @JaxBenji Anyone else I have forgotten??

Would you please update your spreadsheet for today? I do see this happened once before and you took the reduction which held. I think a lot will depend on his appetite and if you will be able to get him to eat should he drop again. I’d also see what his bg is by PMPS.

Sorry...yes, the spreadsheet is updated now. I haven't had an extra minute at all today. He is currently wanting to eat everything in sight but has to wait now until his shot time. PMPS BG will be in about 50 mins. Will you be around at all? Thanks for chiming in!

He’s eating well. If you can monitor and feel his not eating caused the low bg, you can hold the dose provided you have plenty of test strips and hc and can stay up as long as needed. Otherwise try the reduction and take him back up if it fails. He does seem to hold reductions. How do you feel?

I don’t have an all-nighter in me at all tonight. I’m exhausted from the week. I think I’ll try the reduction and see what happens. He’s never had a failed reduction so I think the odds are in his favour. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks again. I’ll keep posting the results. Fingers crossed! Can’t have him dropping like that during the week when I’m away for work! I’d rather he’s a bit high than in danger when I’m not around.
