11/21 Minnie 45/73@amps, 57@+3.5

Well she had food because she eats then I test in the ams otherwise she won’t sit still. I’m stalling though so going to retest now but if I do shoot it’s going to be 4.5

You wrote 73 now. I thought you stalled. There is a strategy to feed and then shoot that I can lead you to that Joji and Kit were taught byMarje but I’m not sure you would want that. So skip.

As for take action at the end if the cycle you grab another test I thought you did and got the 73. I should have asked when you got the 73 and if you fed.
I did retest immediately, but I was thinking I should consider the lowest result to err on the side of caution, no?

anyway, 125 an hour later so I gave her 4.5 and MC. No sure how to enter in the ss because it’s not really +1 is it?

To recap. I tested her immediately after she ate. I have to do that in the mornings or she won’t sit still for the test. I got a 45 so I thought it was wrong and retested immediately. Then got the 73. An hour later I tested her again and she was at 125. I gave her MC

Why did you shoot 5.5 on 11/19? I’m thinking tonight you might go back to 5.0.
Because remember how I didn’t think she had earned that last reduction because it was the day she wouldn’t eat? But then when I got that 53 the next day I decided to try the reduction to see if it would stick. She’s been back on 5 so I need to go down to 4.5, correct? That’s what I just gave her today @Wendy&Neko when do I go back to .25 reductions instead of .5?

Then all is good and I’m glad you did shoot! That 73 was not food influenced. :bighug: So I’m not insane after all? A reduction was earned though. Congrats!

On second thought I am confused. Looks like a reduction to 5.0 was earned but taken late. Let’s see how things play out for tonight.
Correct, the 73 was not food influenced. Isn’t that difference of 45 to 73 too large a variance for the same meter with back to back tests btw?

Yes, see my answer above. It was the day she wouldn’t eat and I wasn’t sure it was a real earned reduction or just a byproduct of not eating anything that morning.

I think it will be trial and error as to whether it’s .50 or .25 reductions now. I think I would do another .50 and go back up if it fails. See what Wendy thinks.
I forgot about the reason you took the reduction later.

It’s a lot to remember I know ;) I’ll make sure it’s in the notes in the ss

Sometimes if you don’t get enough blood on the test strip, it will record low. Good thing you retested. When I doubted the result, I did a third test to be a tie breaker. I would occasionally get that much difference between back to back tests.

If 73 was true, she didn’t earn a reduction. I would try a 0.25 unit reduction if you want to take one.

Could you update the subject with the latest data, so we know she’s OK and your question has been answered.

So is it up to me to pick one of the 2? I’d like to try another reduction to see what happens.

I’m also a little cautious because I’m using freestyle until I get my ReliOn strips in the mail and freestyle reads higher than ReliOn. Those low numbers could be even lower

Yes, I know that now. Super weird how the MC does very little for her. Also, I wasn’t going to test her before +4, but she was screaming bloody murder in the kitchen and wanting food so I thought I’d better test her earlier
