Did he eat too fast? Do you have other cats who compete for the food? Chloe always wants to eat dry food, but everytime she does, she vomits right afterwards. Occasionally, she vomits a small amount of clear liquid for no apparent reason. Did you change food brands recently? Chloe has never had any trouble making stinky poos, but I heard that pure pumpkin puree is good for constipation. I've never tried it, so you may want to ask your vet about it.

It was actually early this morning before he ate, so I guess it was the food from last night. He does eat too fast sometimes and throws up but I'm used to that lol.
And yes ive been trying to find a good food for him so I'm sure that has to do with it. Recently he will only eat friskies pate (low carbs but the other qualities probably upset his stomach) im trying to slowly switch him to blue wilderness.
 
Also I've noticed a trend with this kind of thing happening to him... Its most likely from trying new foods I'd think but im also a little worried there may be an underlying cause that my vet isn't looking for...
So September 16th he was diagnosed. After doing really well, almost exactly a month later he started acting lethargic, throwing up, didn't want to eat. Just laying around. The vet said his BG was high but its his liver and put him on fluids.
Now exactly a month after that hes acting lethargic again, his BG is high and hes just not feeling well overall.
I know his BG could be high from the food changing which would make him feel sick so I'm hoping its just that and that once hes consistently eating the same thing hopefully this stops happening to him.
Also just tested at +3 hes down to 284.

Acting lethargic worries me. It's good you're going to see the vet today. The ketone test is vital.

With my little ones it seems to be more down to having an empty stomach for too long rather than associated with any particular food. That said, ECID. It's easy enough to work out if fasting is the trigger but it's also a good plan to determine what other underlying causes might be present.

If fasting is the sole issue then feeding a small amount every 3 hours can help, and maybe ask the vet about whether famotidine might be of benefit.
