11/17 Moe: amps=107;+4=89;+7=117; PMPS=112;+3=66

Typical Moe. :D

How is he feeling, doing these days?
That’s my boy. :D He seems to be doing okay. A little tired, perhaps. Appetite is good, litter box habits are fine. He has little tussles with the other cats at meal times, but not interested in playing. Loves chin and neck scritches and purrs up a storm when he gets them.

He’s able to jump up in our high bed, but he lands hard and a little awkwardly when he jumps down. I’m not sure how effective the adequan is. He’s on maintenance now, getting injections every two weeks.

I had to explore other ideas for arthritis after a while. Neko's Cartrophen (Canadian equiv to Adequan) helped a bit, I think, but eventually wasn't enough. It's good Moe can jump up. Sounds like it's his elbows that might have arthritis if he's having a hard time going down. For Neko it was the other way around. Arthritis growths was around her hips and less so in elbows.

Yep, both hips and both elbows, and the left elbow is the worst. We are only two months into the adequan, so I’ll give it a bit more time. What did you try after the cartrophen?

I tried Duralactin (anti-inflammatory), but double check that one with the vet. It's not good if calcium is high or kitty has a dairy intolerance - but it did help Neko. I started with fish oil, also some anti inflammatory properties. I also tried hyaluronic acid (Hyaflex), which is a liquid I could just put on food. It lubricates the joints much like Adequan. After those, I moved to pain relief. Which Neko was a combination of buprenorphine twice a day and also acupuncture. Both of those really helped. I've seen some people have success with MSM or CBD, though the are both milder in effect than bupe.
