Looks like history is repeating once again---when she drops so quickly with reductions and then heads back up the ladder. In other words, another failed reduction pattern. The only difference this time is that I waited for 3x<50 for the reductions, plus the one under 40. Not as much reduction in insulin as in the past. Very disheartening, but not unexpected. :(

Looking to increase---at the very least fatten---the dose probably tomorrow am. Maybe the threat is enough to bring her nadir back down into the greens. (one can hope!) I do not think this is a bounce. Tonight will tell.

Hate to be a Whiney Winnie, One would think that after a year of this things would at least even out with steady numbers.

I will take heart tho, and consider that Nova is just that way & accept it. That works. :)

Remember she is more than her numbers. Focus on the whole kitty. She's lucky to have you. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Thanks, Carla. You know, I've been thinking about that. This whole site is dedicated to numbers, and getting our sweet kitties into or close to remission, or at least tightly regulated. I can't seem to get there with Missy Noves. It IS really important to take into account the whole cat. Nova IS doing great regardless of her numbers, and I really do appreciate everything this board and it's members have done to help me get her healthy beyond her her spreadsheet.

I am grateful. Thank you, again for the reminder.:bighug::bighug:

And, I do not want to take away from the struggles of our members who have kitties who have experienced pancreatitis, CKD, or other ailments that may contribute their care in addition to FD. My heart goes out to you all, and I pray that these complications will be resolved and your sweet kitties will be healthy in the long run. (even tho, we have lost many in the last year) <3 :bighug:

Again, I am counting my blessings and am humbled with your struggle. :bighug:

Hang in there, Linda :bighug: I know we can all relate to everything you've said on some level. Your love for Nova is clear and she knows you love her:bighug:

I'm hanging....just not hovering anymore. It's hard on us both--pokies and whatnot... We will survive and persevere. :) :cat:

So much for "Not a bounce" I suppose the public threat of a dosecrease was good! Geez! Still grateful tho!

I’ve been looking at nova’s spreadsheet and I’m wondering about her feeding times. She seems to get a big food bump after her shot and onset relatively late at around +4-+5. It says on her spreadsheet you’re feeding her up to 3/4 of an hour before she gets her shot. Maybe that’s old information but if that’s what you’re still doing that won’t be helping her as far as flatter numbers go. I’m also wondering if she’d flatten out more for you if she had less food with her shot (except when you shoot very low) and half or more of that meal around +4 instead. Probably she wouldn’t be too pleased about that at least to start off with but it’s just a thought for you to consider.

Good job keeping the mamabean on her toes nova :D

Thank you for looking at that. Something to look into for sure. She does get a huge food bump usually--that's why LC works with a tiny bit of 10% mc when she goes lower than usual. I have been trying to close the gap between her meals and shot time.....now mostly 20mins before shot. I'll work to close up that gap. I get so much grief when I change things up. Maybe its time for those auto feeders. ;)
