My vet told me that Zhoom's CBC came back with abnormalities - low red blood cells & low white blood cells. She is coming first thing Monday morning to draw more blood to do a recheck because she says that this finding does not match his clinical picture and physical exam.

Regardless, it is so very stressful. I am trying to stay calm and stay in the present moment as much as possible. That seems to be the theme this year. Zhoom's Chem panel showed very high triglycerides, so doing a fasting blood draw in the morning will also give us a clearer picture on those levels too.

Zhoom ate fairly well this morning and he is up and about lounging in all his favorite spots. I checked out the pain scale information that @Wendy&Neko sent yesterday and he seems to not be in much pain as far as I can tell. These things are good news. Hopefully the recheck blood work comes back looking more positive too.

Good luck with the blood recheck. My vet did that too, she wanted two tests in a row before deciding if an out of range value was worth worrying about.

You might want to take a look at how much fat is in the food you're using. A food with lower fat may help with the triglycerides. It's also not uncommon for a diabetic cat to have elevated triglycerides.

Thanks Sienne & Gabby. I am feeding him RAWZ Rabbit. It has 7.58% fat (as fed) or 30.6% (Dry Matter). Is that a high fat content?
