Hi Diane, just read you post from yesterday. Tough Italian from Newark he is! Hope you are getting some down time to relax during this rough time.
Aww thank you Paul. to see him like this breaks my heart.
Went to see him tonight, they will be moving him to the nursing home tomorrow.
He was pretty good tonight, His right side was affected.
Can't lift the right arm that much, plus he has a tear in the right bicep and osteoarthritis in the shoulder, so that doesn't help.
Cortisone shots didn't help, orthopedic gave him some today, hopefully he'll get
some relief.
He knows what going on, just forgets things and asks the same questions over and over.
Tonight he told me they had to tie him down.
I said what, so I asked the nurse and she told me he kept trying to get out of the bed
so they tied the sheets to the bed rails.
He said to me those mother tuckers, you know what I mean lol
He will be going to the Health Center of Bloomingdale .
My sister had to friends that had their fathers in there and were very happy
with them. Treated the patients very well.
Even the admissions lady had her mom there.
So I feel good about where he will be, but still kills me.
The places closer to me I live in Lyndhurst , near Giant Stadium are
awful.
My cousin was in one in Kearny and it was awful. She has MS and would let her sit
in pee, she would slide over to one side of the bed and left that way for hours.
My sister has no problem telling the place he'll be in that she better not
hear he not being taken care of.
They are really nice people there .
They have a barber shoo in the place, a nice big dining area, a rec room.
cable and tv included.
Can't visit for
14 days though because of the dam virus.
Hopefully he will make some friends and keep his mind more
stimulated.
But he's a stubborn one still.
So that's what's happening.
Have to go to Rochelle Park to droo off the medicaid application.
Boy the stuff you have to fill out I'm surprised they don't want to know
when you last crapped.
Where did this money go, that money.
Any withdrawal or deposit 2000.00 dollars or over they want to know
why, when etc.
He would take out more than that at times and just keep it in the house.
I filled out on the form, don't know what he does with it, he's gone to Atlantic City
in the past with guys, so maybe he list it.
What do they want me to say, they can take a walk lol.
Few more things to do tomorrow and then I can drop it off.
I wanted to pull my hair out filling the forms out , making copies etc.
The Golden Years ha ha.
After me and my sister is done with everything I think I'll sleep for 2 days straight.
Tyler can test himself lol and give him his insulin.
