My cat was diagnosed with diabetes one week ago. She gets 1 unit of Lantus twice a day.
I gave her injection almost 2 hours ago and she isn’t coming down. She has gone from
292 to 308. I’m questioning if it went in as she jerked when I injected. One unit is such a tiny volume I wonder if ended up being a fur injection.
Should I give it again?

Hi, Jeanie! More experienced folks will come in soon, but I know you are probably anxious and want an answer a.s.a.p. Do not give another injection! You don't actually know if was a fur injection or not, and if she did get some of the insulin and you gave her more, that could be dangerous for her.

Hi and welcome!!

DO NOT SHOOT AGAIN!!!

Maybe it is a fur shoot at this point there's no way to know but even if only a bit of the dose went in you do not no how much that bit is and you may end up overdosing, so wait untill the time of the next shoot and give the regular dose, it is better for him to be a bit high for a few hours than hypo .

And Congratulations on home testing !

If you could share with us the test results you are getting it would be easier to help you there's a spreadsheet we use for that this is the link on how to create it and share it with us https://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/fdmb-spreadsheet-instructions.130337/

Those numbers are statistically the same. The insulin just hasn't kicked in yet. Takes a few hours.
