NS for little Lulu.
I have been free handing with the lancet, never again!!! life is so much easier and pain free for both of us. I'm definitely a lancing device convert. Feeling the stress of testing melting away. What a ride.

It looked like Lulu had settled for a blue surf around midnight last night and then she throws a 49 AMBG o_O I am concerned for her safety and want to get her to a dose we can shoot safely twice a day ASAP. Contributing factors are the removal of dry food from her diet and I am also wondering if her liver has been working very hard at saving her when she was on the 4U before home testing so that she has been in an overdose position for some time and might be quite insulin sensitive.

So I am thinking it might be a good idea to completely slash her dose to 1U tonight and see how we go from there - thoughts?

You could do that and then increase every 3 days if unsuccessful. Definitely 2 units is too much.

There could still be quite a bit of larger depot in play causing that 49 this morning. FYI, when you see a large drop to +2 from PMPS, it can signal an active cycle that needs more monitoring.

If you drop to 1.0 unit, make sure you are monitoring daily for ketones.

@Wendy&Neko and others - another thought - what do you think about doing the two 18 hr cycles as a one off? So today at what would have been +6 we shoot and then not again until normal AMPS tomorrow. That way I’d feel more comfortable about dropping less to say 1.5 U and she won’t get a chance to get as high as she would be by PMPS. It will also be easier to monitor the later part of the next cycle.

Hear, hear! I love the lancing device. :) I feel like there isn't a whole lot of love for it around here, so it's nice to find another convert. So much less stressful.

So we went with the 2 x 18 hour cycles at 1.5U. Problem now is how to record it in the spreadsheet appropriately - can someone that’s done that let us know how pls

Thanks Wendy I thought I remembered that Neko had done the 18 hr cycles but didn’t see it in the most recent spreadsheet.
