Thank you! I definitely will and I’ll update as we go. She’s already got me on my toes. She ate like three bites and walked off!

I tracked her down, we had a little chit chat about the importance of breakfast, and am currently hovering over her and her food bowl like a total lunatic haha! She’s lookin’ at me like “LEAVE ME ALONE, MOM, GOSH”

As for eating her breakfast, you've got about two hours on Lantus before it kicks in. So just act like you don't care. Is she a grazer?

Luci does that to me often...she acts like she doesn't like the offering, but then I'll go back and look and sure enough she returns to the scene and finishes up her plate! I just tell her 'here it is' eat it or not...and that psychology works 9 out of 10 times. If it doesn't then I have to entice her a bit by sprinkling some crushed up freeze dried salmon or chicken over it...sometimes I use Forteflora...and sometimes I really do have to get something else out and offer that...

These kitties sure can be finicky!

Is she a grazer?

Hah, she sure is! Usually she’s pretty good about breakfast. I’ve been putting 3oz out, and she’ll eat about 1.5oz off the bat, and then pick for the next 6 hours at the other half. I think I threw her off this morning though - I usually do her BGL and Lantus back-to-back to get the pokies out of the way in one fell swoop, but this morning, I let her start eating and then gave her the Lantus while she was munching and she was not a fan of my adjustment

You must’ve been reading my mind! I carried her back, apologized for changing the routine, and sprinkled her food with FF, after which she ate 1.6oz, which should get her off to a nice flat start. We shall see!

Note to self: letting Bernie free-feed 5oz of food will not keep her flat. It will raise her 100 mg/dL.
