Here is the thread for this morning's AMPS. Did not shoot as Comet's AMPS was so low, he is not really established well yet on Lantus (what we are to do, as per vet: 1/4 unit provided BG was >250 and he had eaten well.). So the day would be great, right? No. I feel like I screwed it up and am miserable.
So feeling I like I failed him completely and am hoping you can guide me tonight. He is over 300 now and will still be there at the time of his PMPS (an hour from now). Edited to add PMPS: 332. Your help would be greatly appreciated. He seems to react strongly to the insulin even though it is a small dose.
Please ask questions if you have them or if the previous thread and my spreadsheet are unclear. And thank you for taking the time to do this. I feel like we've been thrown in the ocean and are struggling to swim. Sometimes it feels like we're doing pretty well, but this day has taken a lot out of us. I am a mess and he is still as sweet as ever. I really want to do right by him.
Thanks for reading this far, and thank you so much for your help.
Editing to add the following smart points by Mogs in the earlier thread:
>>I think Comet looks to still need some insulin support because he has been hovering in diabetic numbers without it but right now the 1/4 unit dose looks too high.<<
Also I am home all night so will be able to watch him closely. I should be able to see him through +5 easily. After that will be harder as I have not had much sleep in the last couple of days, but I am game to check as much as I can. We use the Freestyle Libre right now, so the checking isn't hard, but the tiredness can be.
