? 10/19 Cosmo AMPS 418, +9 54, +9.75 31, +10 49, +10.25 47, +10.5 65, +11.5 92, +13.5 92

Tried to piece together a bit of a summary for you of Cosmo's dramatic dropsie based on your comments as best I could:

54 @ +9 Fed 2 tbsp of gastro wet (HC)
31 @ +9.75 Rubbed honey on gums, fed 1/4 tsp honey, 6 tsp gravy and he is eating. (ravenous and a bit wobbly)
49 @ +10 Fed HC gravy
47 @ +10.25 Rubbed honey on gums
65 @ +10.5 Fed kibble pieces

ETA: Changed 3 tsp gravy @ +9.75 to 6 tsp gravy.

thank you! Was about 6tsp gravy at 9.75

Kibble takes longer to enter the blood stream, I think. I think Megacolon kitties also have slower absorption...so double whammy.

Yep! Will grab a +11.

Thanks for all your help an encouragement!! :bighug:
Argh! Cosmo isn't going to make this easy. :D
You've been here for me when I've needed it. And for so many others, too. :bighug: It's nice to be able to be here for you, too. :bighug:

Ok, we usually would start his test, feed, shoot in about 20 mins.

He ate too late for it to not be food influenced. +10.5 ish is his last food. When do you suggest we start trying to see if he gets insulin tonight? Should we wait till +12.5, at least to decide @Wendy&Neko ?

Wine is a good idea! I hope you can find a bottle. You and DH both deserve some. :)
The minutes do feel like hours sometimes:bighug:

I’m not sure if Wendy is still around for PMPS. What time do you think we should start evaluating?

+12.5? That is in 30 mins.

maybe @tiffmaxee is around?

Will do, thanks Elise!

question...I would consider Cosmo to have shown some symptoms tonight. I remember reading somewhere that kitties who experience hypo are more susceptible to something, but I can’t remember? Did I read something about that?

Thanks @Critter Mom :bighug: for supporting and cheering us on in the background :bighug:
I was up in the stands, heart well and truly in mouth... :nailbiting:

I was so relieved when Cosmo started to come up properly. Yourself and Lyla did a great job! Sendling slightly belated birthday scritches to Cosmo. That's an absolutely stunning photograph of him you posted above.

Wishing you all a much less eventful time in the next cycle! :cat:

Mogs
.

He may be more sensitive to insulin after symptoms. I know it’s frowned upon here but I will say this anyway. I would consider skipping tonight. He was low for so long.
We were thinking that draining the depot a bit isn’t a bad idea. He had been teasing a reduction for days.

In terms of being more sensitive to insulin...do you think 3 units is still ok tomorrow? Or... how sensitive do they become?

Super weird so late in the cycle too!? He is usually all done his exciting work by +5.

If you skip tonight he’s likely to be high tomorrow morning so the 3.0 will be fine. You will just need to keep a close eye on him to see if he’s more sensitive or not. It’s not a sure thing. Are you off tomorrow? I really think skipping tonight to drain the depot is a good idea.

Yes he has been toying with the reduction and he made it super clear. When the depot is too full this happens.

I work tomorrow, but DH is home. Figures...

Sleep well. He should be fine with 3.0 units tomorrow. He had just minor symptoms and you did a great job getting him out of low numbers quickly.
