10/12 Mowgli BG 135 Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian FDMB friends! I have had way too much turkey this weekend. I know because I completely slept through my alarm this morning missing Mowgli’s shot time! This is the first time in his 1.5years of being diagnosed as diabetic that this has happened.... I blame the turkey.

This kind of works out because I am starting back to work on site tomorrow and have to adjust his shot time back anyway.

Ross and I spent thanksgiving just the two of us this year.. we called it ‘datesgiving’ and had a great time cooking up a feast.

I’m putting a couple of pics of Mowgli up that are totally thanksgiving stuff your face till you’re sick vibes:

I was really happy with it how my apple pie turned out this year although I need to work on my edging... let’s go with a descriptor of ‘rustic’

Your pie is GORGEOUS! I'm not seeing much 'rustic' about that! You should post that on the cooking channels on FB! I'm a member of "America's Test Kitchen's FB group...lord do they post some gorgeous stuff! And Shugary Sweets...another FB group for a gal with your talents!

I hear ya about sleeping in...what a feeling! I haven't slept in ... let me think...coming up on three years now...ugh...

Haha yes a 9am sleep in today will prepare me for tomorrow’s VERY early bus ride!

I LOVE pumpkin pie! I saw a recipe for pumpkin pie cheesecake bars online but due to my very low amount of will power I decided it was best if I stuck with just the apple pie

I could do datesgiving again! And now I have so many frozen casseroles and a ton of turkey soup to get us through those lazy evenings that come with earlier sunsets... we had our first snow fall yesterday so soups and stews are up.

Mowgli had some too! It’s nice to have a meat that isn’t too bad for him and he loves it! Turkey comas are the best! Hopefully you don’t sleep through YOUR alarm tomorrow!!

Thanks Sue!! I miss everyone here too! I have been checking in from time to time but I would like to get back in the habit of posting more regularly! Especially to get to know some of the newer members! Luci is looking like she’s finally getting the hang of Tresiba! We’re watching!!

I’m finally becoming a productive member of the team. It’s been a long time coming with this pandemic but I can see the value I will be able to add to the team

the pie looked and TASTED good! I followed a recipe by a Canadian baker Anna Olson, I find her directions really easy to understand and follow!
