How much is this dental work? One vet told me over $600! I asked what happens if it's not done and she said they are simply absorbed back into the gums. I've never had any cats get dental work before. I've also never clipped their claws. They shed them and I find them everywhere. Why are people supposed to clip cats' claws?

Uncomplicated dentals where I love are over $600. Sometimes a dental can lead to remission in a diabetic cat. Untreated dental issues can lead to infection just like with humans.

Charlie had multiple teeth pulled, but yes, the total was around $600 for everything tied to this procedure. There was some infection so I'm glad we did this. Good thing he is on wet food now though. He doesn't have many teeth left:(.

I don't think all cats need their nails trimmed. If they don't scratch your furniture or you, they probably don't need trimmed. Plus if they go outside, you want them to be able to defend themselves.

Bigger BG drop this morning than I expected so I'll need to get back to more regular checks to keep on top of his levels. He hasn't been this low (at least when I've tested) since reducing to .1.

Up a little at +4. I think I'll try to get hourly tests for the next several hours to see if I can figure out when he typically reaches naidar. It looks like it might be around +3 or 4 rather than 6 which I think is more typical (I think that is what I read).
