This morning I forced myself to just let him be...gave them food but kept looking at that alphatrak...

But when I got home...I was weak, I tested him..

I will test still at least once a day until I feel more confident we are sailing in green for sure...

Vet said to test but reduce the times I do it. He said once a week or even less. He said to observe his drinking and peeing more than the testing and if i see a change, that should be my clue to test more.

If you waited that long and Blaze started tipping glucose into his urine again before taking any action, Blaze's BG would be running at or above 14-16mmol/L (Alphatrak) for at least some of the day (over the renal threshold). Regular BG spot checks would let you know far earlier if something was up. For example, dental issues or UTIs are common reasons why a cat might fall out of remission. If you catch numbers drifting upwards it can serve as an early warning to book a vet check-up and treat any brewing issues promptly.

I so agree with that! Being proactive is the plan. I have test strips up the wazoo, i have what I need to be regular in my testing. Once a day is not much at all comparing to what I was doing before.

I think the most I could get to anxiety free would be once every 2 days but not any less...i mean he is so used to it now, his clue is when my head light turns on lol, he sits down and waits for me to be done.
