Adam is usually around 400 he has been dropping some but this is what he just tested at. I know it's not a hypo but not sure what to do. I am holding for 30 mins and retesting . Not giving any insulin .
His spreadsheet is in my signature

Yes ai have everything in my kit so we are good. Plus I own a pet food pantry lol Soo we have plenty of cat food . I will have to use the Relion meter be wise we used that last strip of the Alpha Trak.
I don't remember what the low number is though for Relion ?

He was on 1 1/2 but his numbers were in the 400s so they vet changed it . Idk why she did it the way she did. He is acting normal rubbing all over us and doing love bites

While we're waiting, it would really help if you'd start getting at least a few more tests in.

You should try to get at least 1 mid-cycle test on the AM cycle and at least a "before bed" test on the PM cycle (every cycle)

If you're home and can test more, that's even better. Test at different points in the cycle so you can learn more about when Adam's nadir is, how quickly the insulin starts to drop his numbers, how long it lasts before he starts to go up again....there's so much you can learn by more frequent testing!

Ok re test after 30 mins he is at 88

OK....go ahead and feed him and I'd skip tonight. I'd like to see you try 1.75 both AM and PM and get more tests in and see how he does.

He might not have had very good numbers on the 2U before, but you also weren't testing often enough to really know what was happening. We've seen cats go from 400 to 40 and back to 400 by the next shot. If you only test at shot times, you'd think the cat needed more insulin when in fact, they needed less!

Regular food....and I'd test at +1 and +2 just so you can start getting an idea of how much of a "food bump" he gets. It's useful information

Sorry to hear about your ear. Those ear infections can be so painful! Get that husband to help you! ;)

On your spreadsheet, put 135 @ +12 and 88 @ +12.5 in the PMPS cell (you'll have to choose the color yourself and since the 88 is more important, choose the green)

Then put N.S. in the U column which tells us you skipped on purpose

Ok thanks so much for your help ! Do u want me to delete my post on the other page ?
I wasent thinking when I posted there then here . I think he will be ok just scared me. So in the morning do 1 3/4 Am and PM dosages ?

Ok I will leave it
Yes I doubt he will stay low . I usually feed him before bed should I skip it tonight ?
Thanks so much for being there for us. The vet really sucks !

You don't need to add another column to the spreadsheet. You can put both 135@+12 and 88 @ +12.5 in the same PMPS cell. It will expand to fit

Kind of like this

OMG I just read all the comments about him screaming in the baby monitor but he really does ! My adult son is Autistic/ Epileptic so we put a baby monitor in there to hear him if he wakes or seizes. We have a multi cat house and Adam chose to stay in his room because its pretty quiet and Michael likes him because he lays on the bed with him if he needs to nap etc so its a win win.
Room Service ! lol thats too funny !

His number tonight was 187 so we didn't give insulin because I am dealing with an ear infection that's causing my ear drum to bulge out and I was worried he would drop too low. He seemed pretty happy today he even stayed out of the bedroom for a while which is rare for him.

If Adam's numbers are in the blue that's where I want him to be right ? We are starting to see lower numbers finally. i think between changing the food and tweaking the Pro Zinc we are finally getting somewhere .

I'm sorry I'm about to step out - 133 isn't bad but since you're still early in the cycle AND your kitty might have earned a reduction from the other day I'd recommend maybe using some medium carb right now to keep from dipping below 90 further in the cycle, since I can't stay.

I spoke with Chris yesterday. She said he is bouncing. He just tested at 90 +6
I am going to give low carb and test again in a little bit. He keeps sleeping in the linen closet today which is weird for him . He usually stays in my son's bedroom so I made him come out to test him. We reduced his dose down to 1 1/2 units starting last night.

Adam is telling you the dose is still too much. Not dropping it when his numbers continue to go low is more dangerous. You can always go up again if he needs it after a few days have passed but any time he drops below 90 he is telling you he's ready for a reduction.

Check for ketones daily if it makes you feel better.

He was increased 2 weeks ago. Then back down to 1 3/4 and last night down to 1 1/2
