Tiger is 14 years old and was diagnosed with diabetes in late August. He has been in good health except about five years ago he had bladder stones with blockage. He’s been on Urinary SO wet and dry since that time. After diagnosed, we discontinued the dry per our vet. His sugar has been between 100 and 200 except for two high tests and two low tests early on. We’ve been feeding him several small meals a day. He was still very hungry, so we added Fancy Feast Pate to his diet a week ago. Today he has diarrhea for the very first time ever. I have not been able to find any information about diarrhea and diabetes. I’m thinking maybe the Fancy Feast is two rich and may need to cut down on his serving. (Seeing the vet is difficult with COVID-19 restrictions in place at the vet.) Thank you for any and all information you can provide.

WELCOME TO FDMB and our forum It sound like you have his diabetes under control. May I ask do you home test his blood glucose?
Not that it makes a difference for the reason you are here ...
You could be right about the FF . Tell me did he develop the diarrhea right after you introduced the FF? If so a food change should always bee done gradually . Try cutting back or mixing it with food he was eating with no issues. Then every day mix in lass and less.

If you are interesting in Learning how to home test, setting up a spreadsheet? or are you here to get answers to this one issue? Either way we can help.

Yes, we are home testing. I’ll try to mix FF with the SO at his next meal. He’s been on the FF for a week.
