I have tennis today so will be leaving pretty soon. I'll test later but thinking he's not dropping very fast so I should be okay.
I'm going to be close by so if you think I need to come home mid-way to test I can do that?

Hi Patty,

Just been giving the Noodle her BP med.

Had a look at Blue's spreadsheet. He came down a lot - and relatively quickly - from AMPS (HI) to mid-cycle (80s - with food intervention!) the day before yesterday. I think it might be a good idea to pop back to check on him. I suggest having a look at his values for that cycle and plan your check-up time based on those. And leave some grub out for your Bluebird to be on the safe side. :)

Enjoy your tennis. :bighug:

Patty --

I want to encourage you to consider posting on the Lantus board. It will be particularly helpful since your following TR. There are a lot more people familiar with TR on that board than here in Health.

Case in point, with TR, you need to evaluate Blue's dose every 6 cycles/3 days. With Blue being in better numbers at least half of the time it may be OK to hold the dose a bit longer (i.e., 5 days). Unless Blue surprises you, you may want to consider increasing the dose tomorrow.

Blue!!!

Allowing for meter variance the above reading is pretty much the same as the previous one.

Would Blue have eaten more than usual between AMPS and this reading?

Yes, but only a couple of dry food morsels and licked the bowl. The door to downstairs opened accidentally and that's where I feed a couple of cats so Blue can't get the food. I caught him but too late!

I'd suggest waiting till the morning to do the dose adjustment, Patty. It'd give you a chance to get a bit of decent sleep for yourself.

Looking over Blue's BG history, it seems that a dose somewhere around the 0.75IU mark is what his system currently requires. We just need to help you work out how to steer his numbers mid-cycle to keep him safe and hopefully avoid premature reductions in dose. The work that yourself, Elise and myself have been doing over the last number of days will be a help to you in this regard (hence why I've been reminding you to note what you feed, when and how much in the spreadsheet remarks).

More on the morrow. I'm banjaxed and need to go grab the sleep meds. Wishing you a peaceful and refreshing night's sleep, Patty, and a better and brighter day tomorrow. Catch you then. :)
