OhMyCod! There’s never been a day like today! I was on pins & needles all day and am still a bit apprehensive about what the Trickster might have in store for me!

I have a much anticipated drive up to Crater Lake tomorrow with all three cats for a photo shoot and will have everything Disco needs with me and am trusting he will not cause me undue worry and we can all enjoy the great outdoors!

Today’s Daily Disco photo is of the 3 resting up tonight for their adventure tomorrow!

Lot of green the last couple days. :D

Crater Lake is so photogenic. I hope Disco behaves for you. Just have to share a pic I took several years ago of the lake.

Yes one of my brothers whole career as an adult was up at Crater Lake running snow plow and maintenance vehicles, so I have visited there numerous times but never with the cats.

You know Disco well and yesterday you gave me the link to in “info” page which says “ Long term diabetics - more than one year since diagnosis
  • reduction *earned* after a single drop below 40 mg/dL for those following TR, or
  • reduction *earned* after 3 drops between 40 - 50 mg/dL on three separate days for kitties who have shown they do not hold reductions well and following TR,
But beause he had 2 drops under 50 today (or does the 50 count, too, making it 3) is @Bron and Sheba (GA) right and i should have taken a reducie for the PM cycle today?

Beautiful photo
Disco earned a reduction down to3.75 with that 44. I noticed you didn’t take it. Any reason why not?

I think I may be confused about when to take a reduction. Yesterday, @Wendy&Neko Give me the link to the info page which talks about reductions when you fall below 50. I may be wrong but I feel like Disco doesn’t hold reductions well and today he had a 48 and a 44, so was going by this information but because those two drops were on the same day, does that change things? Or does the 50 today count, therefore making it a total of 3?

Long term diabetics - more than one year since diagnosis (He will be at 1 year next month)

Disco is not a long term diabetic yet,so it is one drop under 50.
If cats are not good at holding reductions, some people do go for 3 drops under 50.
When you are doing the 3 drops under 50 they have to be in different cycles, not the same cycle.

Thanks so much for responding and keeping an eye on me! I will reduce him in the morning! And I will put your information in my notes

@Bron and Sheba (GA) , @Teri (Disco NoFurNo) was following the 3 drops between 40 and 50 rule for Disco, at one point, because he wasn't holding reductions. I'm not sure if that has changed in the last few weeks.
Oh boy, that’s what I remembered too. And I still don’t feel like he holds reductions well BUT it’s three drops not on the same day so I do think I need to reduce, but I will miss all those blues and greens…

If that's what you are still following for reductions, it is "3 drops between 40 and 50 on a dose on 3 different days (not cycles)". Today is his first drop below 50. You would reduce after 2 more drops (on 2 different days).

Max didn’t hold reductions so I followed 3 drops under 50 before he was a year diabetic. It would be on three different cycles. Let me look again at your spreadsheet. I think I would continue with 3 under 50 or one under 40 unless you have a cycle where it’s really hard to bring him up at which point I would reduce. I hope this helps and makes sense.

@tiffmaxee Appurrciate that! His drops were all in one cycle, yesterday 48,44,50 and I’m not sure if the 50 counts as #3As the wording confuses me… 3 drops under 50

I think we had discussed doing the 3 drops under 50 (or one under 40) for Disco. And yes, it's three drops on different days. Yesterday was drop #1.

@Wendy&Neko I have a question on the 3 drops under 50 rule. It's 3 drops on 3 different days and not 3 different cycles, right? What if the cat drops below 50 in both the AM and PM cycle of the same day? Is that considered 1 drop or 2?
