Figured I'd show you guys a photo of from when Kitten was battling her autoimmune disorder earlier this year. This was before she was diagnosed. They had just done some biopsies of her head and shoulders. She looked like FrankenKitty. We weren't sure she was going to live long enough to get a diagnosis........But she pulled through!!! Yay!

Was she on steroids? Your hard work has paid off! :bighug::):D
Yeah, she went on a couple rounds of prednisolone and antibiotics but it would never fully clear up and then come back even worse each time. Once we got a diagnosis after biopsies and samples being sent to a specialist, she was put on a super high dose of steroids and an immunosuppressant. That cleared her up finally but pretty sure it's what caused her diabetes.........

Thankfully it cleared up her condition.
Definitely! She was miserable and in lots of pain. She still has to take the immunosuppressant daily but we're hoping that will be enough to keep it in remission because she can't take steroids anymore apparently. It's been quite the year! Before this autoimmune onset, Kitten had never once been to the vet in her whole 9 years of life! Healthy as a horse! She was already spayed since we got her from a vets office when she was a kitten and my mom is a nurse and did her vaccines. She sure made up for those years of smooth sailing........ :D

My vet who is a boarded internist stops vaccines at age 9-10 and immediately if another illness. My current 2 got two rounds of kitten ones and because Mocha has allergies will likely never get more.

Oh your poor girl. Looks like it was so painful for her. It must have been heartbreaking for you to see her like that. :bighug:
You'd never know that she is the same cat from the other photos you post. What a turnaround!
Congrats on day 6!

O h your poor kitty. She must have been miserable. I'm so glad she is better and is now on an OTJ trial!

She was miserable. It went on for over 3 months. During the worst of it she just laid on the laundry room floor curled in on herself. Even with pain meds, she didn't move for sometimes 24+ hours. Wouldn't acknowledge anyone's presence. Wasn't eating or drinking either. The other animals would go in and sit with her and bathe her a few times a day. More than once I was positive I would come home and find her dead. I actually almost put her to sleep. I called my vet and told him that she can't live like this and if we can't get a diagnosis immediately, than I was going to have to let her go. He reached out to a different specialist and they were able to use her previous biopsy samples (since putting her under again wasn't an option) They were able to give us a tentative diagnosis so we started her on protocol for that disorder and she immediately started getting better! Then she became diabetic and now here we are! Lol! She's a trooper!!!
