Hey everyone,

Peeka’s numbers have been all over the place the past week. I’m not sure if there is a rhyme or reason for it. Some days her PS numbers are in the 200s, other times it’s in the 300s. Do I need to get later testing to try and get a feel for how it’s affecting her? I felt like we were getting a good handle on things a week ago, but now I’m not so sure.

Her neuropathy has stayed about the same. Today it looked slightly worse, but she is still getting around. I’ve found recently she is not wanting to hop down from her feeding table. Fed her at 2:30 this morning, per her request, and when I got up around 4:40 I found her napping next to her food bowl. I’m not sure if I’m doing anything wrong, or if this is just the name of the game.

Anyways, hope everyone is doing well! Zobaline came in, I’m waiting to hear from vet about switching to Prozinc possibly, which is another story altogether since we will essentially have to start her dosing over.

Morning Peter,
I hear ya! I use to say you can never test too much. Take comfort in knowing these numbers arent too terribly bad. I know you want progress because she does seem stuck. Youve held this dose for 8 days now (unless I counted wrong its early here ) I would be asking if an increase is out of the question.
Hope you and Peekas day gets better. :bighug:

If we stay on Vetsulin for another week or so, I would like to get advice on a possible dosage increase. I feel like I may be doing her a disservice for not testing further and accurately getting a nadir.
Vetsulin nadirs pretty early so this is probably the best it will be. You could try for a +6, maybe by setting an alarm and getting it in the PM cycle to be sure, but I imagine it'd be much of the same. Who knows though!

When switching to Prozinc you'll want to maintain the same dose as you have on Vetsulin. Peeka looks due for an increase.

I’ll see about the +6 tonight. I do feel like her nadir is anywhere from +3-+5 based on past tests. Tomorrow I’ll increase to 2.5 and see how we get on.

Peeka +4 178. May not even need the +6 at this rate lol. Assuming AMPS are about where they had been, I’ll increase the dosage and hope for some slightly lower nadirs moving forward.
