Help sugar low sugar was 61/71/97/170

Got her too eat some food thank God! Will recheck soon to make sure her sugars come back up. If they do how often should I check throughout the night or if they come up is she good? Not really sure what to do after honey and food.

61 on the Prime meter isn't dangerously low. Just test again in about 20 minutes and you might want to follow up the honey with a teaspoon of food to help stabilize her

sugar has come up to 71 so far. How often do you think I should check to make sure she stays heading in right direction? Or might she be good? Pet reader is the one reading these numbers.

If her number is higher the next time you test, plan on getting another test in 30 minutes and then another one 30 minutes later....as long as all 3 tests are going up, you're probably going to be good for tonight.

Thank you for the fast reply. I literally was crying and shaking; especially with this being her first time going this low. So glad someone was up at this hour.

You'll be a lot better off in the long run if you stick with one or the other.

For now, if you're using the Alpha Trak, in the +5 cell put "61 AT" to indicate it was on a pet meter. (You will have to color code the cell manually by clicking on the little icon that looks like a bucket of paint tipping over and choosing the lime green color that matches the <68 along the top of the spreadsheet)

I usually only use the human meter as that is what I can afford. I double checked her sugar with the pet meter as I had some more strips and I wanted to make sure I was getting a correct low reading and not a glitch with the meter.
 
And there's the "bounce"!!

Even if she's sky high in the morning, it doesn't mean she needs more insulin. Bounces can happen when 1. they drop too low, 2. they drop too quickly, 3. they drop into numbers their body isn't used to anymore (or any combination of all 3)

Bitsy pretty much checked off all 3 boxes tonight!

At least you can go to bed without worrying if she's going to drop again
