I know for TR we shoot above 50, and i really don't want to skip. I did just give her food because she was begging, I probably shouldn't have now that I think about what stalling is. So should I skip this AMPS shot of 40??

You can re-test now to see if it was a bad strip. If that 40 was a good reading, and since you've already fed, I would skip, and take the 0.25 reduction. Test again in 30mins to see if she's going up.

May I ask, looking at your spreadsheet, I see several occasions where Cassie dropped below 50 and you didn't take the reduction, most recently on 8/24. Is there a reason for that? I'm not familiar with Cassie's history, apologies if this has been discussed.

I was told since Cassie has been a diabetic for over a year, I only reduce if she reaches 30s or the 40s 3 times. :) I should have retested right then but I was so panicked..I do this all in the morning before I truly wake up so maybe I wasn't thinking straight! I retested her after she finished her food and it was 72, so I gave the shot. Because I don't think her food would've raised that BGS level that fast, at least I've never seen it do that when feeding her before with low numbers. I'm hoping I made the right call, and I'm not sure if I should reduce even though we haven't technically seen 30s but 40 AMPS is so scary! :(

Well I guess that 40s AMPS might have been false with the 72 retest number, so maybe I don't reduce. I don't think I got a good amount of blood on the test strip for the 40 reading, so maybe that's why. I just really hope we reduce soon :arghh:

OK, I see. Next time, take the reduction for sure! 40 is really low, especially for a pre-shot number. I'd definitely test pretty intensively in the first part of the cycle to see what she's up to today.

Guessing you will :)!

Definitely!! Poor baby! She is working the numbers too well now, lol.

It’s correct that you decrease after 3 under 50. It’s always best to wait a few minutes and retest in case of meter error or a bad test strip. Or as in this case, bean error. You are correct that you reduce at 3 in the 40’s or any one time under 40.

You could still shoot if you can get off schedule.

Please remove the ? That way if you have another question we will know. Those low green amps numbers work better than coffee, don’t they?

they do!! I'm actually skipping MY coffee today, lol. So do you think I officially reduce today? I know we didn't see 39, but I'm thinking it would be a good idea. This would only be her 2nd time on this dose below 50 as well. :bookworm:

Or if we go based on it being a bad test, I keep shooting 1.5? I'm so unsure because of my retest being much better. I don't want to reduce if she never was even at 40..

I would feel just like you do. Why don’t you see how this cycle plays out and then the PMPS and then decide. See how you feel about the situation as well. Since you follow TR if you decide to reduce and it is a failed reduction, you can go right back up.

Such a bummer because her numbers have been so good. I really hope they continue!! Maybe this time her reduction will be better though, if we do reduce. Thanks so much for helping me guys! :bighug: I think I should wake up 15 minutes earlier, before test time, just so I'm more awake to handle these things LOL

I decided to do 1.5 tonight, I'm going to leave out extra food tonight and try to get more tests at night. I want her to be in these nice greens and hopefully start to recover a bit before we jump to a different dose. Really want to get an automatic feeder too! That'd be perfect!
