? 8/22 Nelson amps 74, +3 65, +4 50, +5 72, +7 47, +8 92, pmps 90, +2 59, +2.5 84, +4 74,

You're going to hate me.... He needed to drop below 50 for a reduction.

Also, a half a can of HC is probably going to shoot his numbers to the moon. These are the instructions for handling low numbers. You want to give a teaspoon of gravy or more if it's a combo of gravy and food. The basic idea is that. you want to bump the numbers up into the 60 - 70 (or a little more) range and encourage a flat cycle by using LC or a little more HC to keep the numbers propped up.

That said, there is another way a kitty earns a dose reduction. If the nadirs are in the normal range for a week and the rest of the cycle is looking as good as Nelson's, you can reduce the dose.

@Sienne and Gabby (GA) With Max I never got to earn a reduction that way because I was told he needed all green preshots for a week. Is that correct? I ask because I told someone that recently and need to cirrec5 that if I am wrong.

Elise - this is the quote from the German Lantus group:
When the cat regularly has its lowest BGs in the normal range of a healthy cat and stays under 100 mg/dl overall for at least one week, attempt to reduce the dose.
I think the instructions are incredibly muddy. I think on the whole, Nelson's numbers are normal range with a few blues shown in for color.

I'm a little confused. Am I reducing? Waiting a few more days maybe? He was doing really well. It's a tricky situation hey

Wow that hc food wore off quick! I almost wasn't going to test him again but he's gone straight back down to 47 this time. He's asked for more food and is just finishing the whole can of ff tuna feast in gravy. Is he gonna be alright?

Ok he ate all the ff this time and a creamy treat to top it off. Ot was 30mins since last test so I'm just gonna take another. Sorry for slow response, might have something to do with the bad weather today.

Gonna try to untag
Can't MUHWAHAHA. We really need AFK tags next to our name on the main forum page if we step away. I'm sorry I wasn't around. You've got great support here!!! Thx for keeping an eye out Lyla!!

Thank you. My anxiety can be helpful at times.

Lol! I didn’t realize. Thanks for responding! Keeping an eye out for low numbers and tagging people is my new specialty.

Yes, he's up to 5.2mmol (93) now.
So he's due in 4 hours for his shot. He'll be going from 4 units to 3.75, is that correct?
Does your experience suggest he might go low again tonight? And do you have to hold a dose like you do when increasing?
Sorry just milking you for info before turn in for the night lol

Ok, how much did he eat at PMPS? LC?

We know the HC and creamy treat works well from this week, how do you feel about that and test in 30 mins?

Ok 2 hours ago he ate most of the gravy centre can. Less than an hour after that I put a creamy treat on top of the left overs and he ate the rest. He had another creamy treat less than 30 mins ago. But I worry it won't be enough after the am low where the hc ff wore off too quick.

Yeah. His depot looks quite full. Looks like he might need HC to keep him flat. What a day it has been for you!

Creamy treat is HC? Sorry, I'm in Mumbai and we don't have that here.

This is still the 4 unit depot at play. The reduction will not have affected the current cycle.

Just keep giving him a spoon of HC and test every half hour till he stops falling.
