8/22 Oberon AMPS 314, +2 344, +5 298, +7 355, +9 411, PMPS 421, dose incr to 1.25 U, +2 381, +5 377

Nope, popped back up. Stubborn cat.

Looking ahead a little... his pattern has been to have high nadirs (over 300), but every few days have one brief dip into the 200s. (This is very clearly seen if you look at the graphs tab on his spreadsheet.) Under TR, which of those do I use when deciding on a dose adjustment? If I look at the high nadirs, I would increase his dose by 0.5 U. If I take the dips into account, I would increase by 0.25 U. (Under SLGS, I would increase by 0.25 U regardless.) No matter what, I think he's asking for an increase; I just don't know how big it should be. My leaning is to be conservative and do 0.25, starting either tonight or tomorrow morning. But if 0.5 would be best I could do it (but probably not until tomorrow morning so I can monitor better).

I think Oberon's fine for an increase. .25u. I'll have to look into .5u increases in regards to TR. I always thought those type of increases were reserved for cats on high doses(5u+). That's smthg a mod might know off the top of their head. If it were me....I'd stick to .25u increases.
Let's see what others have to see about Oberon's increase.
Have a great day Lisa

If all you are seeing is yellow nadirs, you should increase every 3 days/six cycles according to TR. And that's a 0.25 unit increase. 0.5 unit increases are when you are only seeing 300 and above, or above 5 units. With a kitty that has come out of remission like Oberon, it can be harder the second time to get them back into remission. That means being as aggressive on increases as TR allows you to be.

Good luck with the new dose.

Hi Wendy, I just want to make sure I'm correct here, then... since I'm not seeing nadirs only above 300 (there's the occasional dip into the yellow), then I should increase by 0.25, right?

I went for 1.25 U this evening... I'll be able to track until +5 for sure, and can stay up later if necessary. But since he appears to be bouncing from yesterday's dip I'm not expecting anything dramatic.

I also just reread the dosing methods sticky yet again and noticed something else... since we started with SLGS we started at 0.5 U, but if we had followed TR from the start (which we couldn't because he was still getting some dry food), his starting dose would have been weight-based. He's about 11.4 lbs, or 5.18 kg. At 0.25/kg, his starting dose would have been 1.29 U, rounded to 1.25. And here we are! Fingers crossed we'll make some real progress from here.
