Cosmo is doing good! Eating, drinking, peeing, pooping, purring... Overall a happy guy... Now... Let's break that bounce!

Thinking if he doesn't break his bounce today, would like to go back up to 3 tomorrow... Thoughts? I know it's not per protocol, but he seemed to do better on the dose. We were seeing some sprinkles of lower numbers. Thoughts?

Should note that I did a +1.75 on the PM cycle which was lower than PMPS(he ate all his dinner at preshot), so got up at +6 and did another test, which was higher.

Not sure what to make of that... Double dip? A new bounce overnight?

Tanya, can you do a little research here on the forum about 'Failed Reductions'? I'd look, but I'm short on time...

I do believe it is ok for you to go back to your previous dose after x number of cycles if you haven't seen a good number...now where is that darn thing when you need it...

Hello!!!

We have been on 2.75 units for almost 3 days after reducing from 3.0 units - which he was on for 1.5 days.(one time event under 90)

We aren't seeing numbers under 300 yet. Cosmo eats high carb wet and dry gastro food to treat his megacolon. He has been having regular, daily, large, formed, soft BMs without meds or subq fluids for some time, which is great!!!!

We are considering 3 courses of action, and would love your input:
1. Stay the course for the 7 days as per SLGS protocol.
2. We have been given permission to mix 25% low carb into his daily diet regimen and monitor his stool for any changes. We could stay at 2.75 and start that tomorrow am. We have MD kibble at home. A little unsure about wet (we fed ziwipeak for a brief time and it turned his stool into cement)
3. Increase to 3 units earlier than the 7 days to help bring his BGs down.

Thanks!!!
PS. We kind of lean towards option 2 - as the lower carb probably will have better long term benefits.

This is a mod question to me. I guess they're kinda scarce today. It's going to be interesting to see his PMPS...been flat since +6. This is the 6th cycle since the decrease..... typically when you see some "change". I guess you should base your thoughts around what you see tonight. Sorry that was of NO use....I know:p:p:p Bite me(JK!!!!) oh I hope that didn't offend you:nailbiting:

Nice drop down today. I hope you can get a before bed test tonight - looks like he may have broken that bounce.

As far as your options, I agree that adding some LC is probably best from a blood sugar point of view. We'll just cross our fingers his body is OK with it. MD kibble is not low carb.
