@Wendy&Neko

Disco had a great day yesterday, stayed at the beach all day and swam in the lagoon and saw no sharks! Had the auto-feeder set to feed LC at 1am and 3am and did hourly spot tests during the night, with a nice 175 at +7.5.

@Diane Tyler's Mom

Woke up this morning to do his usual AMPS (missed doing a +11) and got a 35!!!! My heart sank and I fed him 2 tsp HC, but about 5 min (no longer) later decided to retest him and got a 151 and a 148. To my understanding, the food effect takes 15-20 min to kick in, is that right? So is the 151 is correct because the HC hasn't kicked in yet? I am stalling until I hear from an experienced member. I am about to retest in 10 minutes.

Teri next time this happens get a second reading. It could have been a bad strip, too much or too little blood. At the moment we get so scared so it’s hard to keep our cool. If he wasn’t in distress it likely wasn’t a dangerous situation.

It wasn’t enough time for the food to kick in so I think it was one of the above and not an accurate test.

Yes, I didn't stay calm, sigh. I will next time... He was acting normal, never has acted off when low though. Retest just now is 180. Going to shoot his current 3u

Looks like everything is under control now...sorry I wasn't around earlier to lend a helping hand.

My first response would have been the same - get another test. If it's low then feed that cat :) I'm glad everything seems to be back to 'normal' now.

Those kinds of numbers will start your heart for sure!

Yep! So I shot him 45 min late as I stalled, so not sure if today's numbers will show as a 'reducie', but will do PMPS 30 min earlier tonigh so be back on schedule tomorrow again.

Teri, I'm sorry wasn't around earlier. I'm happy you got the help(answers) you and Disco needed.:bighug:
Disco you REALLY like to make a statement. Don't scare mom like that. You'll get kicked outta the kool kats club for #s in the 30s.:eek:
Have a good evening Teri
