Max has had 0.1U for 2 cycles now. No new low number events, but today his PMPS was the same as around nadir. I'm not sure if I give the 0.1U and monitor all night, try the 1 drop, or skip tonight? I'm tired and would love to sleep a full night, but I do not want to risk messing up the progress Max has had. I was trying to shoot at 12 AM PST, but will fall back to our standard of 12:30 if I can get advice.
@Bron and Sheba (GA) any suggestions? I saw you have made a comment not long ago. Hopefully, you are still around.

I'm assuming you are using a human meter.
The current dose is still being influenced by the 0.25 units you were giving until Yesterday morning.
I think you would be fine to give the 0.1 providing you can test during the whole cycle, have plenty of test strips and high carb food and feel you are not too tired to do that.
If you are feeling too tired, it would be OK to skip.
If you do go ahead and give the 0.1 unit I would get a +1 and a +2 to start with.
I can stay with you for about 4 hours only though. The West coast of the US should be awake by then..

I can monitor, but frankly, I'm exhausted and would love a night where I didn't have to test rigorously. I've averaged about 4.5 hours of sleep a night this past week and its catching up to me. Therefore, I will skip his shot for the first time in a long time! If/when he wakes me for his next meal, I will test him so I get an idea of how he's doing, but it will be nice to not have to be on high alert for the first time in a few weeks. Thank you so much! I'm heading off to bed!!!! If you have any advice as to what I might expect to see with his numbers, please feel free to reply, but it's not necessary. I'll check the board once I'm up for my normal day.
You are our hero!!

Just tried to reply on Facebook, but the post just vanished :O Looking at it right now - unless several other members feel differently, based on last night's numbers, and seeing some other nights with low ones, I would lean towards skipping, especially if you want to get some rest tonight (which is totally understandable! :bighug:) I wouldn't shoot if you can't stay up to test tonight. On a side note, these numbers are amazing from the last time I saw Max's spreadsheet - it looks like Max might be just about in remission! :cat:

Oh, and yes, it is a human meter for us now! I still spot check with the AlphaTrak, but that's only every so often.

Aw. thank you! I just deleted it because I decided to go ahead and skip! I can really use the sleep and not having to worry about a hypo makes me happy.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner...was helping someone else and didn't get an alert you had answered.
Good decision to skip if you are exhausted. You have to look after you as well.
I would get another test in before you go to bed to check he is not dropping.
Seeing you are skipping, if you want to move the shot times to an earlier time this is the opportunity to do it.
It will be interesting to see what he does with the numbers overnight.
Sleep well. I remember those sleepless nights well.

Yes, we've all been there...not enough sleep...

Hopefully Max has a pancreas that is well and happy and is kicking in to give him what he needs...and hopefully no more insulin.

Just two weeks for the OTJ trial and you too could get more sleep! He is looking really good!!

I crashed hard around 1:30 after letting Max out for 10 min (he was an outside cat who adopted us 14 yrs ago- he’s still determined to spend time outside), and cleaning up dog pee ... I swear it’s like the animals know I want to go to bed!! Max woke me at 3:30 AM for his snack so I tested him - 95 @+3.5. Then let him out to sleep in his favorite spot under our kitchen window (because that’s so much better than a soft couch or any bed, right?). I then fell back to sleep and didn’t resurface until 8:30 AM
Brought him inside and tested him - 121@+9.
I hadn’t thought about resetting his time due to the skip, but I’m totally going for it! We will actually be able to do the AM test IN the AM! :joyful:

I missed this reply as well, but thank you for telling me about changing the shot time! I hadn’t thought of that. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a test before I went to bed, but did get one at +3.5 when he woke me- he was slowly rising (95). At +9 he was up to 121. Now I just need to get ready for our new testing time.
