Today is our 6th day on this diabetes roller coaster. I haven't had any trouble giving the shot and have had no wet fur. Today I did the shot as normal, or so I thought, but her fur was wet after. What do I do? Just wait til tonight for the next shot, right? Do I monitor her today? I feel bad. I don't know what in the world I did wrong.

Yep, just gotta wait till next time since you have no idea how much insulin did get in. It happens; you can still check because it's possible he did get most of it (or none at all) and if the numbers are climbing and indicating fur shot you can not bother with extra tests.

In your SS you'll want to write fur shot along with your dosage today.

Trying hard not to be condescending.
No matter what you think never reshoot after a fur shot. It's happened here before, just once, with near disastrous results. Missing a shot is not the end of the world.

I didn't reshoot? Do you think I did?
I posted because I was pretty sure that you DON'T reshoot in that case, but I wanted to make sure. You know, the 6 day in part.... I know it's not the end of the world. I just need some confirmation that what I thought was right.

You did Mandy. no worries. ;):coffee:

Sorry for that, that's why I included "Trying hard not to be condescending." Assuming someone made a blatant mistake is an even bigger mistake. With very few exceptions no one here is wiser than anyone else and certainly not me. Can we start again?

Of course! :) It's all good. I value everyone here, definitely need you all.

Sissy has the cutest most adorable girly face!!!

just want to add my tip for never doing a fur shot. Use light. Either a lamp aimed at the spot or what I do, which is hold a small flashlight in my mouth. This helps me actually see the spot and the needle going in and out. Have never had a fur shot since! Being able to see the needle go in and out makes all the difference :)
