8/1 Cassie AMPS 118 +3 63 +4 53 +5.5 54 +6.5 68

At this number you may want to add a teaspoon of medium carb... Cassie is getting very close to the edge... try to keep her above 50 if you can...

@Chris & China (GA) said since Cassie is a longterm diabetic that it wasn't until under 40 I should reduce the dose, I can give some medium carb though to keep her safely above that though. I know I feel better when she's higher. :joyful: I think her normal lc usually bumps her up fairly well though too.

Yes, we have the same - 3 x under 50 = reduction earned, 1 x under 40 = reduction earned.

The trick is keeping her from 'earning' any reductions she didn't really earn by allowing her to slip below the line if a little bit of food could have held her up...you want to get her used to being in the greens for as long as possible. Some kitties just have a more difficult time than others 'holding' in those greens...

Looks like you guys are doing just fine :) Keep up the good work :)

I guess I thought it was good to earn reductions lol, to get her into remission faster. But thinking about it, it makes sense based off everything I was told about letting the pancreas heal in the greens! Thanks so much, couldn't do it without everyone who helps us and cheers us on. :)

Yes, I can understand the confusion - I thought so too, in the beginning...but after a while it gets frustrating when they 'earn' a reduction and it was really too soon...and I should have worked harder to keep Luci from dropping too low...it's that tightrope walking that can be difficult...when they truly earn a reduction they'll let you know. You can look at some of the other kitties SS - here's one - @Sarah and Blaze - look at his walk down the ladder. Yes, there were a few times he had to go back up in the dose...but eventually he became insistent and earned his way into remission.

It has helped me understand that the road to remission is filled with many potholes...not always easy to navigate...but eventually with lots of work (and on Sarah's part, a lot of late nights of testing)...he made it!

You both have made remarkable progress since moving to TR! Look at the improvement in that SS!!!:joyful::joyful: Looking great!

I'm hoping Cassie surfs long and hard and earns a reduction - but you've got to prop her up as long as possible...and help her have more time to heal that little pancreas of hers.

Have a great evening! :bighug:
