Went to get Jasper his insulin. It fell out of the fridge onto the floor and cracked on the bottom. Quickly took what I needed and had to throw it out. I had another month left on it. Luckily, its cheap. Now I have to run and get more. Why couldn't the vet have given me what I wanted before I had to refill?

Place the new insulin vial in an empty pill bottle. Before putting it in, wrap it with a napkin or cotton so it fits snuggly in the pill bottle with only the top exposed so you can draw out the insulin. This will protect it in case it drops again. Don't feel bad, many of us have done the same thing.

yes, happens to all of us. i dropped a vial once and it cracked and frothed and i thought it was gone, but i actually managed to use it till the last drop! it didn't have any floaties so i thought i'd try and see if it works and it did.

but lisa's idea of a protective cover is a good one.
