what is TR please?

Hello, I'm new. I was searching in the Glossary for "TR" but it isn't there. Maybe someone in Admin could add the definition. It has something to do with dosing because we are asked to refer to it in our Signature info. Thanks so much, and thanks for this site.
 
Thank you Briere Fur Mom, I will read this and digest it. Canadian, so I will convert the BG numbers to metric first. And thank you for the welcome. I have already benefitted from reading the post about counting the drops in 1.0 unit of the Lantus pen, so I can discharge the first drop to reduce the dose to less that 1.0. What a great tip that was! It works perfectly.
 
I'm wondering... since you have figured out the signature part would you be open to starting a spread sheet? It will greatly help our experts help you. In fact they are hesitant, to give advice without being able to see and track Moonlights numbers ato give accurate advice. PUUUURTY PLEASE.:)

Have you tried posting over in the Lantus & Levemir forum? It's designated specifically for cats using the insulins Lantus/Levemir. There are a lot of wonderfully knowledgeable individuals there that can help guide you through your feline diabetes experience. There's also a plethora of sticky notes giving you valuable information located at the top of the L&L forum page.
Before you post read the posting guidelines, as it helps others to help you more efficiently. When posting there things are kinda particular but, there is a reason behind all the madness. The forum flows more smoothly when peeps post in a certain "format" so to speak. I really encourage you to give it a try.
And as jt mentioned, the spreadsheet is one of the most valuable tools we utilize. It helps to visually track changes in BG patterns and allows others to see the big picture, to better advise you.;)

Thank you, I would like to do this. I am not asking for advice at the moment. What I would like to do first is understand what is recommended here (digest), and compare that to what I have been doing and all my test numbers, etc. Then I will figure out the spreadsheet thing. I'm working from home so I do have time limitations. But I am motivated to learn and participate.

As a new member, I have been trying to read all the info that tells me how to use the forum. I am not used to forums at all in general, so I feel like I am cautiously sticking my toe in the water to see what happens! I find this website very confusingly laid out, and using jargon. I have to learn the language and find my way. It won't happen right away. Please be patient with me. I didn't know there was a Lantus Forum. Thanks for letting me know that! Meow.

I totally understand. I lurked(read through the forum w/o posting) for a while. Take your time and don't get overwhelmed.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

When I first joined I was very confused. Why would anyone listen to strangers over a trusted vet? I soon learned why. My vet is an internist and very good. He got me to test. He never had used a human meter and didn’t know .25 or less changes in dosing were possible. He learned that from me! He showed my spreadsheet to all his third year vet students and soon he was handling all Max’s other issues and I handled his FD with help from the Lantus forum. I became a believer when I started getting low readings after my vet’s office was closed. He told me I managed Max better than any other client. I once joked I needed to become a tech. He corrected me and said no. A vet! Just keep reading. Even if you don’t choose to follow one of our methods the spreadsheet is really helpful. I sent it to my vet every couple of weeks and never needed a curve or a fructosamine test.
