Finding it fiddly to measure 0.25U, gonna buy some calipers.
I used a magnifying glass that has an extra high magnification in one corner...and bright lights. I took extra time and checking, but I have a feeling that calipers would have just been easier! We're back up to 1U now, but I may be moving Max to 1.25U soon, so it will start again.Finding it fiddly to measure 0.25U, gonna buy some calipers.
I know calipers would be a more concise dose, but I made sure I was halfway in between 0.5 & 1 as best as I could each time. The extra magnification spot makes all the difference to my 48 yr old eyes!Oo good idea with the magnifying glass too.
I ended up injecting a reduced dose just now of "somewhere near 0U" since his pre shot was so low.
Tom a fructosamine test is a waste of money when you are testing several times a day. It is an average of the last few weeks BGs basically and doesn’t give any highs or lows. What you have on your SS is far more detailed. also you should be testing for ketones with a bottle of Ketostix you get from the pharmacy. It’s a simple urine. Save yourself some money. My vet called to say he's very happy with the curve results and that clinical symptoms are practically gone. He would like me to bring Monty in in 2 weeks for a general checkup, a frucosamine test and to check for other things like ketones etc. associated with lowering a dose.
