Relion reading higher than FS and just meters being off in general (even though all human)

Stressing about today’s number which is 440... I’m switching back to Relion from Freestyle because the strips are too hard to find now on EBay with the international markets closed.
FS was 288. I know I’m not supposed to get hung up on numbers but why aren’t we recognizing that Relion reads higher than FS- like every single time? We recognize it on the Alphatrak2? It’s not as important I see when the margin of error at higher numbers will be off but what about a reading under 100- could make a huge difference in TR right? For example- it could read 52 let’s say on the Relion but 41 on the FS or lower which I’ve seen! one reading gives an automatic reduction while the other says stay at dose.
Could she have been lower than 131 at +7 this morning because it was measured on a Relion? I mean how big of a difference is there? From what I’ve been measuring when it’s in the lower numbers it’s for sure at least 15 if not 20 points... how can I not ignore this? :(

do we need to do the error implications that can be from a number of popular meters we all use here? Like how we did with the brand of syringes?

Its been too many years since Ive used any meter I suppose they have changed. I just bought one and stuck to that. Never even thought of buying another and then comparing. I'm sure you will get more relies to these questions.

When I asked that same question here, I was told the acceptable margin of difference is 15-20%. I had the opposite experience as I went from freestyle to ReliOn. I did think that relion’s numbers were higher but yesterday I did a test with both and got a much higher number on the freestyle. Granted they were both over 400. The last time I did this with a lower number, I got 74 on freestyle and 91 on ReliOn so I did lower the dose according to the freestyle. I think the reality is none of them are 100% exact. I think you just have to pick one and stick to it or you’ll drive yourself crazy. Even when I test twice in a row with the same meter I still get different numbers

I just tested with the Relion twice- got 63, 65.
Just to test against it I tested with the Freestyle and got 36, then 32.. pulling my hair out lol
Its just such a big difference it makes me nervous. I gave her a skinny reduction. Ill update my SS with the info. Maybe the test strips from FS aren't good- they are from Ebay.

Its just nerve wracking because of how big of a difference it seems to be.. But maybe the Relion is more accurate in general because when shes had numbers in the 20s and 30s before on the FS- shes acted fine- hungry, but not signs of HYPO. I remember reading somewhere that numbers will read lower on some meters so the patient takes action sooner.

You can also get the control solution to make sure the strips are good. I stopped buying from eBay personally because I kept getting strips made in other countries like Germany and Mexico and it fer like a scam to me. If it tests within the normal range with the solution you know it’s fine
