? D'mannose

For those using this, has anyone tried mixing it in the water bowl so they can drink it? Ollie drinks a lot of water, wondering if I can give it this way instead of mixing with food.

For Sam, I fill a 1cc blunt syringe about 2/3 full with water, mix it with his D-mannose dose, draw it back up, then let Sam lap it from the syringe tip. He loves the stuff It's said cats can't taste sweet... but it sure seems Sam can lol!

I'm not as sure about mixing it in the water bowl. If e coli goes for it, I'm not sure what other bacteria might snack on it. Perhaps mix the D-mannose in a small dish with a bit of water, and present it to Olive as a special treat? That way it's not like giving another medication.

I like the above idea. D Mannose does taste sweet and none of my cats even notice the addition in food.
After I gave to Tina, I tried it myself at full instead of a half dose the way I did for Tina. I did have an upset stomach followed by a run to the bathroom. Then all was fine.
I sometimes taste Tina’s meds. Tina just sent you and yours a big hug Paula!

you can also give in a gel cap and if your kitty has no heart issues giving some extra fluids helps as the bacteria come out with a "good" pee...
