I was wondering, when you check glucose in the afternoon at +4, +6, etc. does it matter if your cat has eaten, or those just to see what the levels are doing throughout the day? I leave food out for my cats and make sure to pull it away at 4pm for his 6pm shot, but the rest of the day I leave the food out. Am I doing this correctly?

What kind of food are you giving? Dry food is wrong.

I will try that and see if it makes a difference
I’m not sure what she meant by wait 30 minutes, but if she means waiting to test, if you wait to test 30 mins after your cat eats that number will be food influenced, as will most readings if it’s not ~2 hours after eating. If she maybe means wait to give insulin, that’s not necessary with lantus
