GA Yoyo has passed away....6/16 Yoyo AMPS 407

Day 2 @ 2 units Lantus

Good morning......wish I could say it is a good morning over here but Yoyo's actions are scaring me. Early this morning he looked more alert and was moving in the room, I felt hope was there but then when I tried feeding him about a half hour later he resisted a lot, he walked away from me, laid down on the floor and urinated and the urine had lots of blood in it.
I thought by today he would be feeling better with the pred in his system. I did give him 0.1 cc of buprenorphine after 9 pm last night. I didn't notice any reaction at the time and "yes" it was a very low dose that I gave him to see how he handled it. I'm wondering if it could be affecting him now but I believe it lasts for 8 hours....I just don't know why he seems more weak this morning.....it's like he can't balance himself and now he is just lying on the floor.

His BG is very high, I know pred raises the BG level but I wonder if he is high also because he still has pain and the pred is not helping the pain??? I have so many issues and questions and poor Yoyo is not well.

Hi Lyane....Yo has had blood in his urine for a couple of years....the ultrasound didn't find anything unusual in the bladder, everything is a question...sometimes his urinalysis come back negative blood but mostly they show +2 and +3 blood.

Debra - this is such a beautifully written sendoff to OUR beloved Yoyo. Many of us feel like one of our very own has just crossed. That's what I feel like and I know I'm not the only one. I have had daydreams of getting to meet Yoyo, and now I'm dreaming of his newfound garden of perfection, over the bridge.
Wishing you peace and I hope you never feel alone, but take the space you need . . . I am going outside to admire some flowers. There are some beautiful large hibiscus. I just smiled imagining Yo in the pretty red flower bushes. Smiles with tears and lots of love
