Noted on spreadsheet all along I thought I was shooting 0.10 units, but when I was looking at the syringe it was closer to 0.25 units. You will see 0.25 units in the cell now but this is
NOT AN INCREASE I HAVE BEEN SHOOTING THE SAME AMOUNT I HAVE BEEN SHOOTING ALL ALONG

Hi everyone I'm really getting discouraged with Tyler's numbers
I know I have asked this before but his pre shots and testing afterwards have all been blues , some higher blues the last 3 cycles. As you can see I am getting some greens at night after PMPS
Looking at his SS does anyone think I should increase to 0.5
What do you all think
Thanks guys

If I do decide to increase and get all of your opinions just to make sure if I have to reduce down the road is thus correct what I would do

One other thing , just so I know this is correct for TR lantus in the future about decreases is this correct

I don't decrease dose unless Tyler drops below 50 or less three times , that means any time Pre- Shot or durning any cycle
What I am looking for 3 drops below 50 those drops have to be on different days, So if Tyler were to hit 49 twice in the same day, that only counts as one drop below 50

If Tyler drops below 40 once (he's a long time diabetic) then that's an automatic reduction

Agree with Wendy on increasing the dose to 0.5U. For some reason, Tyler has lost some of the good greens and blues.

He was getting more greens back in Feb, March, April.

Yup. Except for the 3 drops below 50 being on different CYCLES. I don't think you have to wait for those 3 drops below 50 on different days (24 hour periods).

The 3 drops below 50 is also for cats that don't hold reductions well. Tyler has been on that small dose for so long, not sure if he holds the reductions well or not. What would you say Diane? To answer that question.

Are you having to leave Tyler alone more during the day, so you can take your daughter away from the noise of the construction?

For now I just wanted to get everyones opinion,
Right now Tyler's brother isn't doing so well, he is the one with kidney disease, I have mentioned it before on here.
He's been losing weight rapidly, took him to my vet this morning , she did blood work, his urine is diluted, and now she heard a slight heart murmur which she never heard before. He won't eat so have been syringing baby food, he is not nausea at all, he's been in cerenia for a long time because he was throwing up, but that stopped a long time ago.
He was not dehydrated and his teeth are fine. She talked about SQ fluids but said what until she gets the blood work back , said we have to be careful with giving fluids because of the murmur which I already knew

But she said let's just see what the blood word shows
He has been in stage 2 for the longest time creatinine was 2.8 six months ago
He actually wasn't due for blood work until Aug
I love my vet and trust her , I told her about all of you and even printed tons of stuff showing how much you all :bighug:know :bighug::bighug: about everything and advice you give and she was so impressed. She always works with me and supports me.

So concerning Tyler I wanted to get everyone's opinion , if Tyler keeps up with all these blues I will most likely increase if you all think it's a good idea, but not until I see what's going on with my poor boy Perry
I am so sad right now and taking care of the 2 cats and my daughter who has a chronic pain disease for 15 yrs now which I have posted about so some of you know about her, I think I can only deal with one thing at a time.

Perry holds a special place in my heart, not that I don't love Tyler to pieces, but Perry is special to me , believe it or not Perry is the only cat I ever had and I have had 3 others before these 2 he is the only one that ever showed love to me, head butting me, licking my face, follows me around constantly, gets in his cat napper and wants me to rub his butt and then looks at me with his big eyes and wants me to put my face by him and then rubs his nose all over my face.
So he's special to me, Tyler leans more towards my daughter and Perry towards me, Ashley gets so mad lol.
So I just want to thank you guys for all your advice meant to put the hugs here :bighug::bighug:

You are going to think I'm stupid but I think he was holding the reductions well in the past, even when he was on vetsulin he did wonderful, not sure what you mean Deb. I haven't had to leave the house for about 5 weeks now, they are working on other streets right now, but will be back in the future to do other stuff, oh I can't wait lol, but no I have been home with Tyler non stop

See I'm already jumping the gun with the below 50 rules
When I do decide to increase , assuming he keeps up with these blues , when would I take a reduction , only if he drops below 40 once or 50 once? @Deb & Wink

Diane,
First - a huge hug for you. I agree with an increase for Tyler, and have confidence you will keep him safe. Plus I have a hunch you would enjoy seeing him spend time in the greens the way he used to.

I'm catching Tina in the 60s lately, but used to see more 50s and even 40s, all without insulin. I'm saying this as an example of a cat's normal BG. I see some people get awfully anxious about the good lower greens. Maybe that's not you!

We are rooting for Perry, your heart kitty. So many of us have CKD kitties and can relate to your pain.

Praying for a good day for you all.:bighug::bighug::cat::cat:

Thank you so much Jan, I will hear more about Perry today, blood work should be in today. I'm ok seeing lower greens and would always post if I had a question.
I see in your signature Tina Marie has CKD how is she doing. Thank you for your kind words about Perry. :bighug::bighug:

Tina tells me she is doing well and I agree. In October, I started giving subQ fluids, and will give them for life. She had a creatinine level over 4 (and a higher BUN), which meant subQ was necessary. Now her creatinine is 3.2 I believe. Diane, I also have CKD stage 3 and I'm fine. The doc says our goal is the kidneys lasting as long as the rest of me does. It clicked with me somehow, and I'm even calmer about Tina's kidney disease.
I also had a kitty with a heart murmur who lived 19 years minus a month.
Praying for you - keep us informed about your Perry.

Thank you Jan, I'm glad her creatinine levels came down and I'm sorry you also have kidney disease, my dad also has kidney disease. Bless you Jan.
I will definitely keep everyone posted about Perry

Diane, I’m so sorry that Perry is not well. :( He sounds like such a little sweetheart, and I can tell how much he means to you. Hugs and health vines to Perry, and praying that he can be helped with fluids. Also love and hugs to you as you deal with everyone's health issues, you have so much on your plate. :bighug:

As far as Tyler is concerned, I agree with everyone else about increasing his dose.

Leo started seeing more blues lately also and I was just about to increase when he went down to 38, which calls for a decrease. I’m not sure what that 38 was all about but I have a feeling I’ll be increasing again soon. He’s very “slothy” when it comes to changes so I’m going to give him a couple more cycles just to be sure, but the last thing I want is for his body to think that blues are "the new normal". It will just make it all the more difficult to get him back down to greens again, been there, done that. I just wanted you to keep that in mind when making your decision about increasing Tyler.

Wishing all of you tons of luck, hugs, and health vines. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hey Sue I'm sorry but I don't know what you mean , is it about what I posted about Perry, I posted it on the lantus I thought do you mean the 1 post when I asked about increasing Tyler's insulin and then the other one strictly about Perry @Sue and Luci

I was referring to this: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/6-16-20-tyler-amps-94-100-3-75-127-6-75-115-9-5.231061/ (your post from yesterday)...plus this one = 2 threads for one day.

I asked @Adrienne & Molly to please try to use one thread per day and she mentioned that others are doing this...so that's why I copied/pasted the guidelines from the stickies...

If we all posted a couple of threads a day it would just make the forum unwieldy...I can barely keep up as it is...maybe it's just me...I try to visit as many condos as I can each day...but I'm tired and when I see two...I just can't help but say something...if I see them at all...yesterday I didn't get to see any...

You won’t have to worry about me posting:). Still feel I’m being picked on I don’t post often as someone mentioned
