I still feel like I have no idea what patterns are happening in these Lev cycles, but this is the best day we have had.
I had been giving MC food with his shots which might be helpful later in the overnight cycles, but was not helping much in the AM cycles. I think if we have a green PS this evening, I will check a +1,+2 and then maybe give a bit of MC gravy for that initial drop he had been doing after +2....? I am definitely not sure what is his body getting used to this new insulin and what is a sign that I need to steer things with food.
Still trying to figure it out, but pleased for far!

Hope everyone has a great day

Very nice cycle today!

It can take a while before the cat's body learns to work with the new hormone (insulin). It's kind of hard to spot patterns at first. Drove me crazy feeling like a newbie for the first month after I switched. First task is to figure out onset and nadir. Some Lev cats drop hard at onset and you might need to steer if that is Makoto. You also will learn to shoot lower numbers with the later nadirs. I never gave anything but LC at the preshot meal.

How does Makoto like Lev?

So far, so good. He isn't ravenous like he had been over that past few weeks and he doesn't react to his injections anymore. I haven't discovered his onset or nadir yet, but he was doing these bigger drops in between +2 and +3 at night. So, I would see the drop and give a bit of MC gravy expecting him to go lower at onset but that left him in the 300s overnight. I think now it was just an adjustment thing...I am trying not to immediately react to lower numbers anymore. I just feel like I have no idea what to expect.
I figured I would do a curve tomorrow night and see but maybe with these new numbers I should just keep up with them tonight instead.

Good plan to wait on the higher carbs until you get a better picture of his normal cycles. And find when you really need to give carbs.

higher PMPS, not 100% surprised since we almost never see greens- plus he had a high carb treat with his allergy meds around +9 because I wasn't paying attention
