Hi!

I saw mention of a few types of b vitamins for neuropathy, but I can't find them now that I am looking :(

We have given amino b-plex to another one of our kitties, but Cosmo doesn't like them. He does pretty well with sprinkled supplements.

Which are the ones that you all use that we could sprinkle?

Cosmo seems to have some rough neuropathy... Started with walking on his hocks, but he walks like a wild man for the last week. BG is high.

It's methyl B12 that's given for neuropathy. Zobaline is a brand often referenced. Shipping to Canada is outrageously priced. You can crumble the Zobaline and sprinkle on their food. Even Amazon.ca lists it as "currently unavailable". There are a few posts in this forum where people have discussed alternatives, here is one such post.

Alot of members use this , I use it myself you can buy it on line from Vitacost
Vitacost Vitamin B-12 Methylcobalamin -- 5000 mcg - 100 Capsules
It's 17.99 just be sure this is the one you buy
The only difference is the Zobaline has 200 mcgs of folic acid
So I buy the folic acid at the supermarket and crush it up and add it to the B-12
If you can't find the 200 mcg get the 400 mcg and cut it in half
The Vitacost brand is a capsule so just open it and pour the powder on the wet food
Has no taste, no need to crush it up
The Zobaline is 33.99 for 60 pills, too expensive
I saw a big improvement I'd say 3 months, could be sooner. One capsule a day

Does it matter which brand? There seem to be lots of methyl b12 with folic acid options. I'm not sure if some might have ingredients that wouldn't be advisable for cats?

My Google search brings up lots of options :bookworm:

I don't know how easy it is to buy Vitacost in Canada, other than buying on their website. Vitacost charges $9.99 US to ship to Canada. They don't seem to have the free shipping for minimum purchase off anymore. Not sure how fast things are coming across the border now. I also found the New Roots brand in capsules, available locally. Most of the methyl B12 we have here is tablets or lozenges, or come mixed with something else. I think it's best to buy pure methly b12 capsules and mix your own with folate.
