6/9 Max; Stalling and need help!

I am not taking dosing advice from the Facebook page, but after I posted Max's Libre graph, I was told it looks likes he's overdosed! After a day of very high highs, his PMPS was 206. Kept him at 0.5U Lantus. Exhausted from two days of wonky sleep, I missed his +1 but at +2 he was 131. Set an alarm for 3 hrs, and at +4 he was 67 - BUT I saw on the graph he'd spent over 15 min (more like 30+) at about 51. I checked his readings every 10 min and saw he was steadily rising ((85, 85, 93, 104, 118). I fell back to sleep then woke again an hour and a half later and he was 188. He then went up to 403 1.5 hours later (+10). His AMPS is not over 500 (reading HI on the Libre. Is anyone able to look at the SS (updated) and give advice? I was following the SLGS but it was suggested we move to TR since I can test ao much with the Libre.

I’m answering your question here so you don’t have two condos going at once. With TR you reduce if under 50 but with SLGS you reduce under 90.

My gut is telling me to drop him to 0.25U, BUT that could be the influence of the FB group and my lack of sleep. He also didn't eat as much as he usually does (I gave him two choices and he ate about half of each so still maybe his usual) and not sure if that's because he could be slightly constipated or not. If so did that have any effect on his drop and spike or if this is all the insulin?

Edited...I'm going to shoot 0.25U. I have stalled an hour and want to get him fed and shot. At least its daytime and I can test him routinely without needing to sleep!

It’s up to you. You can pick a higher cut off number if you want. You can lower the dose and go back up if it turns out to be a failed reduction as well. It’s all trial and error. The more data the easier these decisions will be. Don’t stress out over this.

A suggestion for next time, if it's possible. I have heard it recommended by people who have used the Libre that it's good to test with a regular blood glucose meter if you see lower numbers with the Libre. You may get different results.

As for the sudden green numbers, it could be because the 0.5 unit depot finally got full after the skip a few days ago, and you were able to see what that dose can do.

I had every intention to go back to testing with the AlphaTrak (it seems to need less blood than the Relion I bought in a panic), but haven't pulled up the big girl panties, so to speak, to try it again with him. I know that I probably wasn't coherent enough to have tested him at 4 AM, but it's something I need to just do. I was just shocked to see how fast he went up, and how high he went. Even when he dropped to 53 last Sunday, he went up in response to the HC food and the 1.2mL corn syrup I gave him, but then dropped back to a nice 160. Perhaps two totally different incidences, or maybe I messed things up by doing the NS? I'm checking him every hour (overkill, I know) and he's slowly coming down- 490 (+2) to 423 (+5) - that includes a small snack at +4. Will see where +6 has him.

Don't worry about messing up - think of it as data gathering. :bighug: My mantra to myself was "every cycle is. do over". Once you have plenty of data, those big girl panties will fit just fine. ;)
