As I mentioned in my last post. FaFa has stage 2 CRD. In past few days FaFa does not eat much. I just realized that it can be serious. FaFa was 6.6 lb on last Thursday, now she is 6.0 lb. I am thinking if it is because FaFa eat the normal food other cats eat (normal can+cooked chicken breast) which may have high phos. I supplemented her with can food that had relatively low phos. Is this a mistake?

I have tried many favors of food, wet and dry, but she does not eat much. Fortunately she still eats a little. She looks like not feeling complete fine, but still manageable.

I am thinking buying salmon fish and new kind of food for her tomorrow. I am thinking if I should take her to see the vet, since vet can stress her out. I took her for detailed body check already.

Also, FaFa is having smelly, watery feces for few days.

I am now reading Tenya's article on persuading your cat to eat

If FaFa is not eating she may be nauseated and she may need an antinausea medication like cerenia or ondansetron.
You could try Cooking some pumpkin in water nothing added, draining then mashing it and giving FaFa a teaspoon of mashed pumpkin twice a day to help the loose poops. Freeze the extra pumpkin in IceCube trays for later
You could also give a probiotic powder. 1/4 teaspoon once a day then twice a day to see if that helps.

Awwww FaFa :bighug: The food dace has been a regular in my household for years. I hate that the vet stresses FaFa but the vet can prescribe meds that help her appetite. I think Bron is right she may feel nauseous.
I'm sending prayers for FaFa:(

I today buy 3 packs of these. https://www.kohepets.com.sg/products/aixia-kenko-kidney-urinary-tract-care-pouch-cat-food-40g
And FaFa likes to eat it. I find that this is the only food that FaFa always eat it. (always means FaFa finish it all 100% times. )
This is a specialized liquid food for senior cats with weak kidney function (note that it is not prescription food) from Japanese company, it statess

low levels of phosphorus and sodium at 0.08% and 0.10%, respectively.
Fish (Tuna, Fish collagen peptide), Oils(Chicken oil, Sunflower oil, DHA-EPA oil, Coconut Oil), Protein hydrolyzate, Lactosucrose, Thickening agents(Modified starch, Jelly agents), Vitamins(A,D,E,K,B1,B2,B6,B12, Niacin, Pantothenic acid, Folic acid, Biotin, choline).
Nutritional Analysis
Crude protein: 6.8% or more, crude fat: 4.3% or more, crude fiber: 0.1% or less, crude ash content: 0.8% or less, moisture: 83.0% or less.

@Bron and Sheba (GA) @Marje and Gracie @Wendy&Neko @Dusty & Roe

I have two concerns:

1. As a wet food, it takes more than 2 USD to buy one pack of 40g. I think a cat should eat at least 100g of food, but this would be very expensive.
2. Also, it consist of 30% of carbs (dry matter), I think this is biologically inappropriate for cats. Also, although FaFa had been eating dry food for 14 years without diabetes, last week the doctor find that she has little bit of sugar in her urine. Her BG is completely normal, but I think this is a sign that she cannot eat too much carbs.
3. Should I prohibit FaFa from eating food that has normal amount of phos that other cat eat.

I am thinking some possible solution:
1. According to Dr Lisa, she gives CKD cats 0% carbs, 40% protein, 60% fat. I am thinking blending egg white to that liquid food to give FaFa protein. (I have a small blender that can blend small volume of food) Or blend some animal fat to the food, but I do not know where can I get that healthy fat, except fish oil supplement. I think white egg can be too much of protein to FaFa
2. Just blend low pho can food in the liquid food.

Any idea? What should I do or add, how to execute, safety precaution?

Thanks Jenet, yes Weruva is readily available in Hong Kong. The problem is FaFa sometimes dont eat them when she has bad appetite :(. Of course, I can blend Weruva into that Japanese liquid food.

I'm sorry. The last three on the list are my cats favorite, particularly the two with duck which is slightly higher in calories.

Maybe a little Bonito flakes on top?

Sorry to butt in but curious, Janet (my little sisters name:bighug:) where do you purchase the Weruva? I cant find it in the pet stores here.
Zoe is stage 2 and all the other low Phos food I've tried she wont even get near it.:(

Peter since you've already bought that low phos food you might as well try adding some cooked egg whites?
Unless someone has a problem with that?

Sorry for your Jeanne:( FaFa is stage two too. Today FaFa has the appetite to eat the liquid food, and fortunately, she eats Werura salmon can today. At the beginning, she was licking the gravy on it and not eating much of the salmon. Then I use a small blender to blend it, and it makes the salmon feels like liquid baby food and FaFa licks 60g out of 80g of the can. I find FaFa generally prefer liquid food. Hope it helps.

Yes I do that Peter. She still wouldnt touch the stuff. (Shes pretty headstrong) I wonder if the vet has looked at FaFa's teeth? Older cats get teeth problems. Maybe thats why she likes her food mushy?

Do you have the brand Tiki Cat there ? I ask because they have a packet called velvet and velvet mousse which is just like baby food . They are know for human grade food and 0 carbohydrates

Thanks Roe, just checked and yes, we have Tiki Cat in Hong Kong. It looks nice for CKD cats, and it is always safer to have more variety of food in case FaFa has bad appetite. I just sent a email to their company since I want to know how much protein comes from pumpkin. (I personally do not like pumpkin for myself:facepalm:)

Peter The Tiki Cat I’m talking about comes in a pouch not a can it’s not pumpkin . It is called Velvet and Velvet mousse it’s is the consistency of baby food so this would be really easy for her to eat if her teeth hurt . I will try to find a picture
