I wanted to ask a question on when to switch to a new bottle of insulin, im getting close to the end, have a little while to go but I wanted to know how low to use what is left in the bottle. Do you use it to the last drop or cut it off at a certain point? Thanks for any input

use as much as I can. That stuff is expensive. But I always get another vial when I have at least 1/4 left. I keep that one in the fridge as a backup just in case I drop my new one so I don't have to panic about not having insulin.

Thanks Janet...Oh I dropped one already, smashed all over the tile floor....So, yes I have a backup in the fridge as we speak. You are correct, its not cheap...not like me, haha...But I was just curious about when to stop using it and you answered my question, I will ring the last drop out if I have to

I think they're usually good for 3-4 months, occasionally longer. If you notice the numbers trending upwards for no reason it's usually a sign to open a new vial. :)
