Noted on spreadsheet all along I thought I was shooting 0.10 units, but when I was looking at the syringe it was closer to 0.25 units. You will see 0.25 units in the cell now but this is
NOT AN INCREASE I HAVE BEEN SHOOTING THE SAME AMOUNT I HAVE BEEN SHOOTING ALL ALONG

Good morning everyone, I hope you all have a good day and the kitties stay safe
Weather is beautiful here today in Jersey, cool and breezy:cat:

Just a reminder

Questions for you Diane.
Are you happy to keep Tyler's feline diabetes as tightly controlled as you do?
Or did you want to try for even tighter control? Or did you want to go a little bit looser on the BG levels?
Is Tyler happy and feeling well and giving you all good signs on the 5 P's? (Purring, peeing, pooping, preening, playing.) plus his good appetite?

That even tighter control of the BG levels can get time consuming, even more time consuming than Tyler is now.
So stop and think about it.
Think about the time you need to devote to not only Tyler, but to Perry and to your daughter and to taking care of everything else in your life.

Ask yourself when enough is good enough.
Ask yourself if you are willing to put Tyler on a diet. Shedding some weight could help him.
Ask yourself if Tyler would relentlessly beg for more food, even if you cut back from 1 full tablespoon at his snack times to a skinny tablespoon of food.

Would it be worth it? To Tyler, to Perry, to you, to your daughter?

I agree with Wendy. This is a situation where just tweaking the dose is worth a try if you want to get rid of the blue.

Thanks for marking the SS. If you click on the pink line and then go up to “format”, “merge”, and “merge horizontally, it will spread your note out.

You brought up a lot of good questions
Hey Deb, I guess I'm pretty happy with the the way his numbers are right.
How would you try for even tighter control? Could you tell me what you mean by that
Tyler is feeling well and all the 5 P's are good
You're right about taking care of Tyler, Perry and my daughter is time consuming already for me and sometimes I just want to scream
About Tyler's weight he eats about 2-1/4 cans of FF Pate so that's about 225 calories a day, sometimes less.I try my best to get him to lose weight.
He thinks every time I test him that he's going to get fed
I could try and cut back a little
To tell you the truth I always want things to be perfect, I guess you can say I'm obsessive compulsive
My daughter is getting worse, I'm up very late with her because of how much pain she's in, it's not easy, then I worry about Perry
I guess I'm pretty happy with his numbers, and I'll try not to get frustrated with any blue numbers
I appreciate all your advice, I truly do
If he never goes into remission then I'll just have to accept it
Will speak to you tomorrow
Thank you again, you gave me a lot think about
Just got a 68@+6.25 just thinking what if I had increased his dose for tonight, he might have gone really low:bighug::bighug:

Deb asks some good questions. If you are aiming for an all green cycle, you could try fattening his dose a tiny bit. Nadirs are for the most part 70's and above, so you could try take that down just a tiny bit. Of course, he could tell you what he thinks of the increase, but that's good info too.
Thanks for your thoughts Wendy, I think if I fattened his dose up a little bit , I would be close to the 0.5 mark
But I could try if I wanted to down the road, you can read what I wrote to Deb if you want to
Thank you again, I appreciate it:bighug:

Hi Marje , I might try tweaking it down the road as for the SS I see what you mean , I'll try doing what you said, I don't know how to get rid of the vertical lines
You can read my reply to Deb if you want to
Thank you for your help I appreciate it:bighug:

The instructions I gave will get rid of the vertical lines on that line. PM me if you need help.

Libby, who was a long-time and very experienced member here (think Jill) once told me that it’s fine to decide on a nadir that works for you and your kitty and she thought 70-80 was fine. If most of the cycles had nadirs in that range and there wasn’t bouncing up into high blue or higher, it was reasonable to hold a dose.

Could Tyler do better and possible earn more reductions? Yes. He could earn a reduction from where he is. It’s basically up to you and we will support your decision.

@Marje and Gracie hey Marje I tried what you said to get rid of the lines, it didn't work on my android tablet, nothing came up that said format. I am not good with this stuff. Maybe it's different on a tablet , I don't have a computer, when I press down on the pink line I made the only words that come up are cut.copy. paste. clear. comment and note. It irks me I can't do it lol
How could Tyler do better and earn more reductions?
How could he earn a reduction from where he is?
Could you please explain this to me Also what do you mean when you said it's fine to decide on a nadir and everything else you said about , I don't understand sorry @Marje and Gracie

Deb I was just curious when you said do I want to try for even tighter control, what do you mean?
How would they be even more time consuming, just curious @Deb & Wink

You'd increase up the dose, monitor even more than you are now, and try to get his BG levels as close to the 40's as possible, but manage the drops with food as needed to keep him safe.

You'd be "flirting" with the 40's, or trying to get Tyler's numbers down as close to 40 as possible, without going hypo.
Day and night, not much sleep, maybe "cat naps" only.

That is what I meant by even more time consuming.
You'd have to watch Tyler like a hawk, all the time, to the exclusion of many other things in life.
You'd have to watch him very, very closely, so he did not have a symptomatic hypo.
It would be exhausting for you Diane. I don't recommend it. Truly I don't.
You'd be playing with fire, and the fire extinguisher (your hypo kit) might not be enough to help Tyler, and you'd end up at the emergency 24 hour vet.

That is what I meant.

Hey Deb thanks for explaining this too me, I think I will pass, I'm happy with the way he is doing. I sent my vet his curve I did and she was very very pleased
I wouldn't even think about raising his dose after reading what you just told me
As long as he's feeling good I'm happy and I think his numbers are great
Thank you Deb, I truly appreciate all the advice you give me. Have a good night:bighug::bighug::cat:
