Levemir-Little’s first 2 weeks

I know it’s too soon to judge but ugh!! Random greens, scattered blues and WAY too many pinks. Can someone take a peek at my SS and make sure I’m doing this right? Yes I have my patience pants but I HATE seeing so many pinks. Seems like she is bouncing even more on Levemir than with Lantus or even the PZI. :banghead:

Little is getting some lovely greens on that dose. Yes she is bouncing but comes back down fairly quickly. She just needs time to get use to normal numbers again.
What is your feeding routine?

I think you need to stay with the same dose. And keep those patience pants on!

Thanks guys. Bad day today and she’s had random blues and greens regardless of dose. 1.5-1.75 2 and so on - all with bounces. I hope the switch to Levemir doesn’t turn out to be a mistake. Hate seeing her up in the 3s

Cats can take a while to learn how to work with the new insulin - could be a couple months. Do keep on those patients pants.

One questions - have you changed your feeding schedule at all? Some of the bounces could be from steep drops, just wondering if you need to modify meals at all to reduce those steep drops. Onset looks a little later than on Lantus, some Lev cats drop fast at onset.

No she is still eating as described in my signature although that was a recent change during the last few weeks of Lantus. I’ve been pretty good getting tests so I think I’ve “caught” most of the steep drops. It just pains me so yo see consistent pinks. Haven’t seen that in a while. Seems like there were a few days where she did drop quick at onset - then I get a day like today where she’s just pinned in ugly numbers. I am washing my patience pants now... do you think I should keep her at 2.5 for a few more days? I’m inclined to do so and see how it plays out but I welcome advice. Thanks for the input :bighug:

You might want to try feeding something closer to onset. She gets zero carbs at PS then no carbs until +6, which is closer to nadir if I'm reading that right. So she has no carbs on board when onset happens. Some FF around +2.5-+3 might slow her down.

Thanks Wendy.I can try that tonight. +3 137 so gave her a snack. Any thoughts on a day like today? Didn’t really go too low last night and was pinned in the 300s all day.
