Roe go back to your original post, you have to copy your original post
Here is how to do it
Go back to your original post, all the way up top by the picture of the cat do you see where it says www.feline diabetes.com put your finger on that and press down and the word copy should come up
Then go to your new post, it actually should be the first thing before you start your post

For now put it underneath your last word which is happening
Then press down and it will say paste, we do this so if someone wants to go back to the day before to read something we just tap on it.
Look at mine for tonight and you will see mine
If you look at the top of this post you just wrote you will see it says feline diabetes.com/FDMB/threads/understanding-bg-
Do you see it, that is where you would take the day before and copy and paste it to your next days thread

I saw that someone suggested for you to go over to the lantus forum
Do you know where it is?

If you do you have to do a new post for every day
First you would put
Date
Dusty
AMPS- whatever it is, then as you test through the day you would put
Here is an Example
5-16-20 Dusty AMPS-200/167@+3/154@+5/and so on/PMPS-160/155@+4/145@+6/and do on when you do this to the left you will see in small letters thread tools
You tap on that and you will see edit title that's how you add your other text numbers to then hit save

Do you get it and don't forget to put the thread from the day before
Let me know if you understand

I am glad you have got some cerenia.
I would not increase the dose to 2 units. The 1 unit took Dusty down to 142 yesterday morning. Increasing to 2 units is doubling the dose. The reason she has those high numbers is because she is bouncing from the 142. Newly diagnosed cats can bounce a lot. It’s common and quite normal. Cats bounce when 1. They drop too fast, 2. They drop too low and 3. They drop lower than they have been used to more recently and they think they are in danger. So they send out an sos......help....and their body dumps stored glucose and regulatory hormones into their system and the BG shoots up high. They can bounce from 1 to 6 cycles. There is nothing you can do to stop it once it’s happened. You just have to wait for the BGs to go back down to where they were.

When cats come off the bounce sometimes they can do it hard and fast. So you need to be aware of that and monitor closely once they start to come back down.

We recommend increasing in 1/4 unit increments to ensure we don’t go past the best dose and we keep them safe.
I see on the other thread that the pancreatic test was negative. That’s good. Did the vet give any explanation for the lack of appetite?
Most vets increase in 1 unit increments but I would really recommend you go back to the 1 unit of Lantus and see what happens once she comes off the bounce.
We only have 2 days of data to go by.
Have you looked at the two dosing methods? If you have any questions please ask.

Bron when I thought I mentioned when Dusty BG was 157 that was when her usual Vet was off and the Vet owner bumped her to 2 units so that number was 2 units . I know this is confusing but with in two days she was raised to 2 units back to 1 unit and now 2 units again because of her going in the 500 range . I agree 100% with your 1/4 unit increments it makes the most sense! My Vet never gave me an explanation for her lack of appetite only to say let’s see if we will need to give her a stimulant. Bron you were right all along Dusty is nauseated. She was gagging at the smell of food last night . Going to read link and vet just called for me to pick up appetite stimulant so brb
